On a cold January night, Sharon Lemke heads outside to see a lunar eclipse when she notices something odd at the house behind her backyard. Through her neighbor's kitchen window, she sees what appears to be a little girl washing dishes late at night. But the Fleming family doesn't have a child that age, and even if they did, why would she be doing housework at this late hour?

It would be easy for Sharon to just let this go, but when eighteen-year-old Niki, a former foster child, comes to live with Sharon, she notices suspicious activity at the Flemings' house as well. Top notch narration weaves a strong story together

I loved the way the story and the narrator blended seamlessly to create an immersive listening experience. Stacey is a true artist. The story was powerful and lovely. Well done.

Loved the suspenseful plot, and kindness of some of the characters, but disliked the mild profanity. Great narration !

Well written and marriages book

The book keeps you hooked. So well written with such an amazing story, a real story for too many foster kids, I so wish most of the will have the end the little one here did. All characters were well played . I want more books like this.

Great book

Great story. Very few books make me emotional. this one had me crying. storyline was believable as were the characters.

Simple and surprisingly entertaining

This was my first book from this author. At first, when I began the story, I wasn't the biggest fan of her style of writing. I usually enjoy more poetic wording, richer descriptions, uses of metaphors, etc. The writing felt a little more on the prosaic side and wasn't all too dynamic. However, I was very taken in by the actual story itself. I loved the characters and plot. The performance by the reader is wonderful. There are characters ranging from an 8 year-old little girl to old men and she seems to almost effortlessly bring each character to life with depth, dimension and honesty. Though not my typical type of novel (I kept thinking how it could almost be a Lifetime made-for-TV movie), I still really, really enjoyed it.

It was a great book with a wonderful ending. Easy listening with just the right amount of drama. Good development of characters that you either care for or greatly dislike intensely. Everything resolved in the end.

Ease of understanding who the characters were and how they fit together.

I really found nothing to dislike. The only issue I ever had was skipping sometimes. But I am sure that was just a wifi problem.
