And the battle Casteel, Poppy, and their allies have been fighting has only just begun. Gods are awakening across Iliseeum and the mortal realm, readying for the war to come. But when Poppy falls into stasis, Cas faces the very real possibility that the dire, unexpected consequences of what she is becoming could take her away from him.

I’m normally not a fan of POV books in a series because it can feel monotonous, but this was surprisingly refreshing. It filled in some gaps for me as well as made it much easier to picture Cas (with the male voice) in all his glory. My only frustration is the cliff hanger and having to wait who knows how long for the next book. 5 stars all the way around. Can’t wait for what’s next!

Exciting, heartfelt, maddening, passionate. You name it this book has it. The storyline is well thought out and engaging. I love the characters, the narrator does an excellent job. PLEASE keep her for all the books. Nothing worse then switching narrators in the middle of a series when you have a good one

Never in my 40 years did I think my new normal would be gluing body parts back onto ghosts and hosting a houseful of dead squatters. Thank God for superglue and a strong stomach. Never thought I’d date the Grim Reaper and that I would be the one to blow it. I mean, how idiotic does one have to be to get dumped by a dude who lives in Hell? Going about business as usual is not usual in any way. No one is who they seem to be...and to be honest, neither am I. What I’d known to be true has turned out to be myth. The angels are frightening, and the demons are hot.

I LOVED this and the first book. Cannot wait to start the 3rd. The narrator is awesome. As a woman of 46, I was actually able to relate and appreciate the humor these characters brought. The story line is engaging, and getting to know each of the characters has been a thrill. Not sure why anyone would have a negative review. I rarely write reviews but read them always. These days it seems book readers/listeners are constantly complaining. Everyone has a right to their opinion but I just wish people would enjoy books for what they are meant to be…. A break from reality, and something that gives different insight and opinions than that which is engrained in their minds.

The names of characters are vital. The job is to know the characters, know their voices, names and history (especially if you are not the first narrator of the series). I've had to say it loud the correct pronouncement every time I heard some variation of Colin (Kahlan).
If he'd say he name (among others) correctly, this review would be 5 stars and I'd be telling friends to buy it too.

The Devil can see me and knows when I’m watching. The Devil can hear me, when I whisper his name. The Devil can feel me, when I sneak in and try to touch the sin of his world. And the Devil can taste me, when I scream in the night. The Devil is my stalker and I am his only weakness. The one soul that continues to slip through his fingers, no matter how many times he tries to conquer it. He is the King of Hell and I am his greatest Sin. He is the Devil waiting and I am being lured in.

Great book! Takes on a different mindset of good, evil, and the devil. Love the twists and turns. The female narrator did a good job, however the male was lacking for me. I feel he needed to have a more masculine aggressive voice since he was a cop/devil host. His voice would have made a better accountant…. I wish who ever decides in narrators would read the books and cast accordingly. This isn’t the first time with Stephanie Hudson’s books that the narration has been sub par. If I had the time to read I would prefer that, but audible books allow me the bliss of imaginary worlds whilst doing my daily work. Great work by Stephanie, audible , however, needs to step it up.

Well, it seemed as my days as a data analyst were long behind me, it seemed feeding random people’s cats and baking cookies for work colleagues was too. What wasn’t behind me, however, was getting snatched by the mob or finding myself tied to yet another chair. But this time the mob had made a big mistake, because this time they weren't the scariest ones out there. No, but I knew who was. The one who had claimed me. The one who wanted me back. The one who was now out for blood. A Siren’s Enforcer.

I was just a data analyst. I paid my taxes on time. I used to feed a cat that wasn’t my own and bake cookies for the office. I was a good girl. How was my reward finding myself penniless, broken down and stuck on the side of the road with everything I owned piled in the back, and all because I was being chased by the Mob? But then again, I must have had some luck left or he wouldn’t have stopped.

Amelia: Lego sets, Star Trek and junk food in my pajamas, these used to be how I would spend my safe and lazy days off. Now, what am I doing with my time? High-speed chases, running from Hellhounds, fighting witches, opening boxes that threaten the entire Vampire race, and stabbing bitches with my shoes. But hey, at least I get to wear a pretty dress on my date. Now all I can hope for is that it isn’t one where people end up shooting at us again. That would be nice. And all this was because I fell in love with a Vampire King. A Vampire King, who claimed me.

Need the first narrator back
Reviewed: 09-07-22
I never leave reviews, good or bad, but I have to get on the bandwagon with this one. It took getting used to the change in narrators from the afterlife series to the transfusion series, but she did a good job and by the 2nd book really made Lucious and Amelias characters great… then the switch. New narrator is so monotone, I found myself having to rewind several times and listen over because I would zone out. She would do good for a history book, her voice is fine, there is zero nuance to it, but NOT good for a high energy, action, supernatural romance novel. As much as I have spent on Audible over the last few years I expect better, much better. Going to drudge through the next book, but I’m REALLY hoping they go back to original for the rest of the series or I may not pay to listen, I’ll just read the books.
