Reader problem

The story holds up but the reader pronounces Kahlan's name as though it were Colin and it threw me off every time. I had to keep translating it in my mind. It was rather annoying.

narrator review

The story is great, but for the 4th book in a series I would have expected the narrator to have listened to at least a small amount of other of the previous 3 books for the "common" pronuceation of names...

It would be nice if the narrator had taken the time to listen to the previous books, so he could have pronounced the names to match the narrators of those books. It was realy anoying every time a name was pronounced different than books 1-3

Great Book. Bad Reader.

The narrator is okay. But only okay. His consistent mispronunciation of the Mother Confessors name is a constant annoyance. The pace and rhythm of his reading can become monotonous at times.

All that being said, it is an excellent story in the Sword of Truth series.

A Good Book But....

This book was great but the narator did not pernounce the names right it was a little anoying just a heads up for people who are on this book

Disagree with most reviews!

Although a few times names were mispronounced, this is the best read book of the series with the exception of Sam Tsoutsouvas reading of Book 1. After the torture that was Jim Bonds reading of Book 2, this was an absolute pleasure to listen to.

For all those who think this was a poor listen, try going from listening to the last few chapters of this and go right to the next book, Soul of the Fire. It made me appreciate this one more and it may change your view of this listen. You want to complain about something? Complain that they even thought about bringing Jim Bond back for a later book in the series.

Poor Narration

Where does Temple of the Winds rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Four books, four different narrators. The first three narrators, while bring their own style to the story, at least got the names right. Dick Hill doesn't pronounce Kahlan's the same as the three other narrators. This is probably the result of bad direction instead of the narrator's skill, but I wish he had taken the time to listen to prior work before accepting this job.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story was ok. It dragged along in a few places and was sometimes predictable.

What didn’t you like about Dick Hill’s performance?

He was inconsistent in how he pronounced the character's names.

This has long been my favorite book series. I was terrified when I read the reviews about the terrible narration...but once you get used to his pronunciation of the names...it's not so bad. His voice isn't sharp or shrill like some that have hurt my ears at times in the past (book 1 especially) and I liked the way he changed how he read for spirits and prophecy.

Better than avg book, not best in series but audible version hurts

Enjoyed the book, darker than others but still holds my attention and draws a great picture. The voice/reader is better than last but he pronounces all the names poorly or just wrong ie Kahlan amnell is a main character. It's been KAY-lan in previous versions and by Goodkind. This version is kah-LAHN. I cringe ever timeline or miss its the mother confessor speaking. It's too bad the narrator has great voices and inflections.

Still enjoyed the story 1st and 2nd time. I just take time off from listening to this book, other SoT books I devour.
