Not bad, but not my favorite

I didn’t love this book, but it wasn’t bad! The ending was a bit surprising but not a ton. There were a few times I got confused by love/people change, but overall books ok!

Story
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

Story
Amber Patterson Parrish has come a long way from being an invisible wallflower. Her hard work and immaculate planning have paid off now that she’s a prominent socialite, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been bumps along the way. Less than a year since her husband Jackson’s tax-evasion scandal, Amber is still at the top of the Bishops Harbor community pecking order, free to do as she wishes while Jackson sits in prison. But that freedom is quickly coming to an end. With Jackson getting released from prison, Amber’s time—and money—is vanishing.

Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

I saw this book in stores listed as a “staff favorite”. The octopus on the cover immediately caught my attention because I love Octopus & sea life. Then when I read the little blurb about the book, I was intrigue and had to know more.
I have Zero regrets! This book is adorable & so well written! I am usually a fantasy, romance, and dark romance reader, but this was such a light hearted break. I will absolutely be recommending this to others!! Marcellus was my favorite, so stinking funny!

Piper hasn't even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won't last a week outside of Beverly Hills. How bad could it really be?

I am usually a dark romance or romantasy reader, so this was a cute little break from that! Piper reminds me of Elle from Legally Blonde which was fun! I would suggest this for someone who’s new into spicy books & likes rom-coms.

That ending though, wtf???
Good story! Xadan & Vi slightly got on my nerves in this book, just their back & forth & romance felt a bit Twilight-y (aka teen love). But the story is great & I love all the characters!

Story
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College – Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is – unless she betrays the man she loves.

The story itself was great! I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending though.
Spoiler: I really truly hoped it would end up with Jeremy being the bad guy & drugging Verity or something & doing the same to the new girl. Lol I can’t be alone in wanting him to be the bad guy.
