Hauntingly chaotic
Reviewed: 04-07-25
I listened to the audiobook version and while the narrator did a good job, I found the frequent time jumps between past and present—and between multiple characters—a bit confusing to follow. The premise is intriguing, especially with the eerie setting of the Gallagher Hotel and the haunted party angle. Riley’s grief and desire to rebuild her life gave her character some depth, and Chris had an interesting, if chaotic, backstory.
The supernatural twist added a spooky touch, and the atmosphere was well-crafted, but with so many characters and secrets unraveling at once, it was sometimes hard to stay connected to the core storyline. Overall, it was a decent read with a unique concept, but the execution made it hard to fully engage.

Coach Tommy HarMy world revolves around two things: Hockey… and my daughter Clara. Since my “ex” left Clara with the door attendant of my apartment building five years ago, I’ve managed to make it work pulling double duty. Coach of the best professional hockey team in the league plus mom and dad. Would that be triple duty? Whatever. When my go-to babysitter has to bow out to finish her education before taking the bar, I find myself struggling to be everything to everyone for the first time ever.

By far my favorite book in the series! I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. Clara’s voice took a little getting used to, but overall, it was a great performance. Rosie Burke did an amazing job setting up the next book, and I’m already counting down the days until I can read it. The story had the perfect blend of heart, humor, and romance—Coach Tommy and Amy’s dynamic kept me hooked from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I'm the best goalie in the league. That's not me shooting the shit. I've got the stats to back me on this. My ability to see the ice, predict plays before they happen, read the players are all skills I've honed since the first time they strapped me into a pair of skates. But it's not just the ice where I enjoy watching people. That part of me is something no one can ever know. Makes finding The One difficult. But finding The One for tonight? That I can do.

Too Much Steam, Not Enough Story
Reviewed: 03-28-25
This book wasn’t quite for me. While I enjoy a good steamy romance, this one leaned too heavily on the heat and not enough on the plot. The exhibitionism and voyeurism aspects were a bit much for my taste, making it hard to connect with the story. That said, Rosie Burke does a great job weaving together the lives of recurring characters across her books, which I did enjoy. The camaraderie between Garrison’s teammates and the strong friendships among the women were also highlights. Overall, not my favorite, but fans of ultra-steamy romance might love it! I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator was ok.

Complicated Romance

This book was a bit of a struggle for me to get into. The premise was interesting, but I had a hard time moving past the fact that Eve was dating her sister’s ex. It just didn’t sit right with me, especially given the complicated dynamics. That being said, Nick and Eve were a cute couple, and there was some undeniable chemistry between them. However, I do feel like Eve should have had an honest conversation with her sister about her feelings for Nick years earlier, as it would’ve saved a lot of tension in the long run.
The characters were well-written, and the setting in Miami and Nashville added a nice touch. While the story had its sweet moments, I couldn’t fully get behind it because of the initial premise. Still, if you're looking for a light romance with a bit of drama, it might be worth checking out. I listened to the audio version of this story and the narrator was entertaining.

Story
Guys claim three minutes is a long time, so imagine what it means to be seven minutes older than your identical twin. We may look exactly the same—even down to our cupid’s bow lips—but our personalities couldn’t be more different. She’s foot loose and fancy free while I’m the responsible one. I’ve always been okay with that, too, but recently I’m feeling stifled by the constant pressure to be perfect. Date the perfect guy. Have the perfect job. Live in the perfect apartment. Perfection has a heavy cost. Am I willing to keep paying it?

Emotional, Captivating

This book was an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible! I loved how Emerson’s story intertwined with Bitsy’s, giving a deeper look into her experience during the second incident with Pearce. Seeing everything unfold from Em’s perspective added so much depth and emotion to the story.
Emerson is such a relatable character—torn between the pressures of perfection and her own desires. Her journey of self-discovery and breaking free from expectations was powerful and heartfelt. And then there’s Darren—loyal, patient, and completely in love with Em since childhood. His unwavering devotion made my heart ache in the best way. The tension between them, the history, and the emotional connection had me hooked from the start.
The romance was slow-burning, angsty, and incredibly satisfying. The way these two navigated their feelings, past heartbreak, and lingering doubts felt so real. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the moments of vulnerability between them made their love story even more compelling.
Overall, this book had the perfect balance of drama, emotion, and romance. If you love second-chance love stories with deep emotional stakes and unforgettable characters, this is a must-read! I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. Their expressive delivery and distinct character voices made the listening experience even more enjoyable, drawing me deeper into the story. It was a pleasure to listen to, and I highly recommend the audio version!

If you love romance novels with plenty of chemistry, heart, and a dash of vintage flair, this book is for you! Elizabeth "Bitsy" Thayer is a modern woman with a love for 1950s pin-up style, determined to finish law school while navigating a relationship that doesn’t quite ignite her passion. The real problem? The man who does—her brother’s best friend and hockey teammate, Henry "Hank the Tank" DuBois.
Hank has been secretly pining for Bitsy since the moment they met, but the bro code and his respect for their friendship have kept him firmly in the friend zone. That is, until fate throws them together in an unexpected way, forcing them to confront their feelings and decide if they’re willing to risk it all.
This book has everything—undeniable chemistry, witty banter, emotional depth, and plenty of spice! Hank is the perfect mix of tough athlete and devoted softie, while Bitsy’s independence and charm make her an unforgettable heroine. Their journey from hidden longing to full-blown romance is intense, heartwarming, and oh-so-satisfying.
With well-developed characters, a strong emotional core, and just the right amount of heat, this is the kind of romance that keeps you turning pages late into the night. A must-read for fans of steamy, swoon-worthy love stories! I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. Her expressive delivery and distinct character voices made the listening experience even more enjoyable, drawing me deeper into the story. It was a pleasure to listen to, and I highly recommend the audio version!

This steamy historical romance that delivered an irresistible blend of passion, danger, and redemption. With an independent and sharp-witted heroine, a scandalous yet charming earl, and a plot filled with intrigue, it’s a compelling read from start to finishI loved this book even more than the first one, and I really enjoyed that one too!
Sophia Hayward never planned to marry, but when she overhears a sinister plot against her, she realizes she must rethink her stance. Enter Lord Richard Balfour—a notorious rogue who suddenly finds himself captivated by the very woman who challenges him to become a better man. Their attraction is undeniable, but with secrets, schemes, and Richard’s past threatening their future, love may not come easily.
The chemistry between Sophia and Richard is electric, filled with sharp banter, undeniable tension, and emotional depth. Sophia is a refreshing heroine—intelligent, bold, and unwilling to let circumstances dictate her fate. Richard, on the other hand, is the perfect flawed hero, struggling to overcome his past and prove himself worthy of her trust.
Beyond the romance, the novel weaves a suspenseful plot filled with danger and deception, keeping the stakes high and the reader engaged. With a perfect balance of intrigue, passion, and heartwarming moments, this book is a must-read if you enjoy historical romance, especially stories of redemption and strong heroines who refuse to settle.
A captivating, thrilling, and deeply romantic tale—highly recommended!

Delightful
Reviewed: 03-14-25
This is a steamy historical romance that delivered everything I crave from this genre —an independent heroine fighting for her future, a brooding yet honorable duke with secrets, and a marriage of convenience that turns into something far more complex and passionate.
Annabel Ridley is a determined young woman unwilling to settle for an unfaithful betrothed, despite societal expectations. Her desperation leads her to the Duke of Halmesbury, a man with his own regrets and a desire to find a second chance at happiness. Their arrangement seems mutually beneficial, but Philip’s hidden past threatens to unravel everything just as their feelings begin to deepen.
The chemistry between Annabel and Philip is electric, with plenty of tension, slow-burning desire, and emotional depth. The novel masterfully balances the excitement of their growing relationship with the intrigue surrounding Philip’s secret, keeping me engaged until the very end. The writing is rich in historical detail, making the world feel immersive and the stakes all the more real.
I am a big fan of marriage-of-convenience tropes, strong-willed heroines, and dashing yet damaged dukes, which made this book impossible to put down. A captivating, passionate read that proves love is always worth the risk! I listened to the audiobook, and Claire Glover was delightful. She did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. I am looking forward to the next book.

Loving the Series

This was a fantastic second book in the series that exceeded my expectations. I’ve loved Megan since the first book—she’s such a compelling character, a fearless firefighter with the unique ability to withstand fire. When Troy enters the scene, the chemistry between them is undeniable and electric. Their connection felt so genuine, and their shared tragic pasts only made their bond stronger. Watching their relationship develop in such a short time had me rooting for them every step of the way.
What really stood out to me was how the book handled mental health issues with such sensitivity and positivity. It emphasized the importance of therapy and the healing it can bring, which I thought was such a refreshing and important perspective.
I listened to the audiobook version, and the narrator was absolutely phenomenal. She brought each character to life, drawing me deeper into the story with her performance.
I’ve become a huge fan of this author. The depth she gives to her characters is incredible, and her ability to draw you into the plot is unmatched. The only downside is the cliffhanger—while the emotional journey of the characters was satisfying, the mystery surrounding the assaults on women is left unresolved, leaving me eagerly awaiting the next book.
I’m particularly excited for Ash’s story in the upcoming installment—another strong woman with abilities of her own. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

I absolutely loved this romance novel! Laura, a single mom and paramedic, is hiding a secret that only her father knows. When her high school love, Carter, reappears in her life, Laura finds herself rethinking everything—her life with her young son, and the complicated feelings she still has for Carter. This book is a steamy, emotional journey filled with heartbreak, friendship, forgiveness, and, of course, love. The romance between Laura and Carter is both sweet and sizzling, with their shared past adding depth and complexity to their chemistry. I really enjoyed how the author developed each character, making it easy to get completely absorbed in the story.
