About this listen

Coach Tommy Hark

My world revolves around two things: Hockey… and my daughter Clara. Since my “ex” left Clara with the door attendant of my apartment building five years ago, I’ve managed to make it work pulling double duty. Coach of the best professional hockey team in the league plus mom and dad. Would that be triple duty? Whatever. When my go-to babysitter has to bow out to finish her education before taking the bar, I find myself struggling to be everything to everyone for the first time ever. A chance encounter sends me the solution in the body that would have the devil praying for forgiveness.

Amy Perez

You can't go home again. Well, I mean—I could. Technically. Nothing's been said or done to banish me from my parents’ homestead in Oklahoma; I just know that’s not the place for me. The issue is, even working at Charleston’s, the preferred bar for the local pro hockey team, it’s difficult making ends meet. When my friend Bitsy shoots me some insider info on a prominent man needing a live-in sitter, it seems like all my prayers have been answered. Can I ignore the fact he’s the most delicious man I’ve ever seen? I need this job too much to be tempted by his rock-hard abs. His shaggy hair. His calloused hands. The way he is with his daughter…

Is mixing business with pleasure a recipe for disaster?

Great Addition

to the series. I 've loved this series from the start and this one could be one of my favorites of the series. I really enjoyed the family dynamics with Clara and Tommy's parents. I do wish there was a little more interaction with the team and other characters from the series but it makes sense how they were a little isolated to themselves. My only real issue was with the conflict and Amy's past I didn't really feel like it was part of the story much just kinda tossed in here and there and didn't serve a whole lot of purpose or make sense with some of it. Like honestly as soon as they showed up there should have been more questions and actions to protect Clara and the resolution felt unfinished to me, though I do really appreciate there wasn't a typical hiding of the feelings and "break Up" from it and that Amy was open and honest with Tommy about everything. Overall it's a sweet and a bit steamy story and great addition to the series. Narration was done well.

Entertaining!

Amy Perez is on her own for the first time in four years. She just escaped a cheating fiance and is tending bar at Charleston's, the unofficial bar of the NHL Chicago Sharks. Tommy Hart was the former right winger in New York, but for the last five years he's been the head coach of the Chicago Sharks. He was named the NHL's Sexiest Coach and Amy certainly understands why. Tommy's world changed when his ex dropped a baby girl off at his doorstep and years later, he and Clara are managing well with Bitsy, their nanny. Bitsy is leaving soon and Tommy needs to interview for a new nanny and who should fall into his lap (not literally) but Amy. Amy and Clara are a joy together and Tommy has never had this much hope that she may be the missing piece for their family. This is the type of story that makes my heart happy!
The narration by Amber Goode was excellent. Her dynamic, emotional voice and solid pace and modulation are perfect from start to finish and the characters feel alive.

Nanny romance

Another great Hockey romance by Rosie Burke. This is A sexy nanny / boss fake relationship story, with a little girl, that is very precocious.
It’s steamy, sexy, with angst and love.
Amber Goode is new narrator for me. It is an enjoyable listen.

Coach finds the perfect nanny.

If you like a good single dad romance, this one is awesome. These characters are so likeable and believable. I loved my time with them.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narration really abbed to my enjoyment of this book. She performed these characters with compassion and feels. 5 stars for her as well.

Loved this book

Thou shalt not lust after your nanny... or your boss. But what happens when Coach Tommy Hark needs help with his daughter during the season and hires the hotter than sin Amy Perez? Not only does he find it hard to not lust after her, she finds it hard to do the same to him. But the one thing they both agree up on is that Clara comes first, and always will. So when trouble comes knocking (quite literally)...

... what are they to do? The only thing they can think to do, fake an engagement. But how long will they be able to hold on to the fake part of the relationship before someone gets hurt? Only time will tell.

As always, Rosie is a master with making her characters endearing and loveable. Even when they don't feel loveable to themselves, she makes us root for them either way. Clara was such a lovely little 5-year-old, and I wanted to protect her with as much fierceness as her father and nanny did.

The only thing I missed with this book in the Dropped Puck series is a little bit more of the player interaction that we got with all the other books. If that would have been in there, it would have been a 10 star review for me. (If only I could give those!)

And score one for a great narrator.

First from this author and won't be the last.

Good story, well rounded with depth and drama. The narrator does a good job changing her voice per character whether it's their chapter or not. Clara sounds so cute.
