I decided to read this as I liked Rowan so much, but I have been very disappointed in this book. I would not recommend it. The plot was so repetitive. I could not even finish it. That has not happened in a long time of listening to my many titles in Audible.

Preachy narration slow

Well, I had a pretty good idea how John Grisham felt about the death penalty after chapter 3 or four of this book. After that, I felt as if I was getting my nose rubbed in it. There was some plot in it, which was relatively and grossing, but most of the book was preaching about the hazards And horrors of the death penalty.

I normally like Scott Brick very well as however, in this circumstance, he was slow and so methodical that at times I felt as if I was going to fall asleep. I had to stop and start the book and only take it in small increments. I normally do not have to do this with John Grisham‘s novels, but in this case I did, I finish the book because I wished to find out what happened with the main character but it was a slow slog. I don’t recommend this book for those people who have not paid for it.

Repetitive Repetitive Repetitive and endlessly preachy. I have listened to all of the J.D. Robb books and this is the first time I found myself wishing it was over. Yes Eve, we know you are such an a amazingly wonderful cop who guzzles gallons of coffee, has no ethical issues but do we have to be assaulted multiple times with it in every book? This one was the worst.

As always, the narration was excellent.

This book exists only to peddle creative smut , and that not very creatively. I am no prude but this book’s main focus was one overwrought and overwritten sex scene after another. The narration was terrible. Why oh why must Satan sound like a Russian spy?

Really..... toxic mold... nazis..... witches. How completely ridiculous!

I really struggled to get through the book.I have enjoyed previous faith hunter novels but not this one. If toxic mold and crazy witches is the best she can do, then the Soulwood series is not for me.

What made the experience of listening to Wild Rover No More the most enjoyable?

I have loved all of these books so very much. young adult fiction? bah... these books are for everyone! Or.. I am just a kid at heart. I stayed up all night listening to this book and laughed and cried. I rarely do that.

What did you like best about this story?

Well, not to give any of the story away, but the final reckoning was wonderfully done.

What about Katherine Kellgren’s performance did you like?

She is among the best of the audible performers. I will listen to anything she does. She IS Jacky Faber.

Any additional comments?

I hope generations of readers, both young adult and adult, read these books, listen to these books, cherish LA Meyer's wonderful work and Katherine Kellgren's masterful performance. I know I will listen to them again and again.

What disappointed you about The Highlander's Reward?

I have downloaded almost 900 titles since I joined Audible and this was the worst book I have listened to in my tenure as a "reader". The heroine was just plain stupid. I lieu of a plot, there was sex instead, which was repetitive. Our author needs a thesauras for the word "passion". I cringed more than once while listening to this book, and had to laugh out loud in places I am sure the author never intended. The writing was just ghastly.

What could Eliza Knight have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Used it for recycling.

Would you be willing to try another one of Corrie James’s performances?

No, she seemed to think that rolling an R equaled a Scottish Burr.

What character would you cut from The Highlander's Reward?
