Storytime to inspire diving deeper into the adventure of wine

A few errors, but a great way to wet the palate and go on to learn more! It’s a quick trip around the world and through time, all while doing your homework of enjoying a glass of wine. And kudos to any wine reader that doesn’t sound pompous. (Too many audible wine book performers would be more appropriate for Downton Abbey times.)

The writing style, delivery, & perspective... forgive the expression, makes my ass twitch. The writing stems from a grumpy high horseman, a bitter Queen, or a privileged private school boy who doesn't approve of his ice cream.

The affirmations aren't all terrible, but a computer-like voice telling you how to be more human is disturbing. The mechanical narration is too distracting.

I'm grateful this was recommended to me & I pass that on. The only caveat is that Goggins doesn't read the entire book himself, but is rather there for just the "podcast" discussion part (which is awesome). His voice sounds like he's been through a lot, whereas the actual narrator... sounds like he's never done a pushup in his life. Regardless, get past that & you'll be rewarded with insane motivation. I hear his voice everytime I go to make a lazy decision, like he's the angel on my shoulder saying "Come on man, you're not living your life to it's full capacity." Roger that.

This actually made me worry. And this narrator has a kind of "salesman" tone that I prefer to avoid.

Between the narrator's voice & the injection of religious perspective for you to "fulfill God's calling because this is His will," this was torture in comparison to good ones in the series. I'll keep weeding through them since the good ones are worth it. Hearing "His plan for you", etc in a hypnosis recording is too cultist. I like to keep my religion & spiritual beliefs separate from "hypnosis" & brain training. Not sure if there was a religious warning in the synopsis or reviews, but there should be a heads up. This is the 2nd time I've been so disappointed by "exclusivity."

"Speculation" approach could've been a bit smoother with just the forewarning and then moved into as historical fiction. Reminds me of archeologists working with the limited artifacts left behind, piecing all of the puzzle together. Fantastic focus. Please more wine audible wine books and more on female history!

This series makes meditation easy & approachable. Gabrielle's voice & delivery feel like you're gently gliding in a calm lake. I immediately feel more connected & grateful to my body.

I've been listening to this one for the entire week so far & everytime I've passed out before being 10 minutes in. He says "let go" in a different way than your brain has habituated to. The result is that you efficiently release your day. Also, too many meditation recordings are with a Valley Girl up tick at the end of each sentence & the tone/voices are not soothing. Diddys', the Monterey Bay Aquarium Meditocean, & Jon Kabat Zinn are perfectly serene.

Refreshing story and perspective. So good & her voice is smooth and comforting. Brilliant individual & phenomenal role model. I don't usually read books surrounding politicians (I prefer certain news outlets rather than personally spun propaganda). But this is a great read for anyone who cherishes family values of love, respect, growth, and community.
