very much enjoyed the story. a strong second book. o like the original plot vs how they tweaked it for the series. some interesting twists and turns you dont see coming. the reader is a great voice for this character.

I really enjoyed the whole tv series so decided to try the books. I'm definitely going to read the rest of them. the show did a really good job with the first book. I'm eager to see the rest. I like the reader. definitely seems like the guy you'd picture.

interesting information thigh I think it was mostly vinegarette at the beginning. then it devolved into a very theoretical discussion on philosophy and linguistics. I was looking for a little more of a useful text, that gave you ideas for how to adjust behavior or treat disease or something. a way to better understand people. this wasn't that. but it was still interesting.

just s food as so the other ones. is your a jack carr fan, you won't be disappointed. this story explores global nuclear war threats and ai. carr goes deeper down the rabbit hole of conservative beliefs and torture scenes, but still makes for a compelling read.

it is a very complete documentation, but didn't really go into the historical forces that contributed to the catastrophe as much. the effects were also largely an epilogue not a detailed exploration. but still a compelling read.

with James Patterson and then the start power listed I thought this would be amazing. I feel like it was a failed screenplay, abd this was a read through or something. the acting was pretty mediocre- just like reading lines not actually acting. the premise is sort of overeating but... good it was free.

it's definitely Tom wolf. it's a classic. I went back and read it after a number of others. im not sure I found the topic as compelling as athletes at a "southern academic powerhouse" or astronauts etc, but sadly the topic of racial inequality and wall street excess is just as relevant today as it was in the 80's. there are times then the actions seem over the top, and don't explore the actual questions as well as they could these days, but this was written so long ago, and ages well.

the narrator is good and you can definitely hear the nasal twang of Sherman, and all I could think of was the guy from the Offer. his women's voices were a little stereotypical but it was also the 80s and the characters were themselves caricatures, so it works.

I want sure about the concept but ultimately I think it worked. I did enjoy hearing about Sam's childhood and early career. the lesson that perseverance pays off is always good to hear. and... it's always lovely to hear his wonderful Scottish brogue...
