Story
After surviving a trauma several years back, Remy Reed relocated to a cottage on one of Maine’s most remote islands. She’s arranged her life just the way she wants it, spending her time working on her wood sculptures and soaking in the beauty of nature. It’s quiet and solitary—until the day she spots something bobbing in the ocean.

Not what I expected
Reviewed: 11-10-23
As an avid reader of Becky Wade, I didn't even think twice before purchasing this book. The story was good but it was completely out of step with her usual Christian romance genre, and had that been highlighted in the description, I would have taken time to decide if this was a read for me. Again, story is good and the choice is the authors as to what they write. However, I felt a little bait and switch as a dedicated supporter of their work.

Story
Christi Reece is desperate. The one-time golden girl’s life has been tarnished, and a cascade of setbacks has left her reeling. She needs help, and she’s certain Jack Colby is in a position to provide it. When she shows up in Hope Harbor, however, Jack wants nothing to do with the woman who betrayed him. He’s built a new life on the Oregon coast—and there’s no room in it for Christi, even after she takes refuge in a charming but mysterious cottage nearby. Yet it soon becomes apparent his opinion of her may need revising…especially when he ends up needing her help.

This was another great story bringing us back to Hope Harbor. Absolutely love this series and this one did not disappoint. Christi and Jack’s story had just enough mystery and tension to make me route for them. Loved the message of grace and redemption and it also sent me to my local Mexican restaurant for fish tacos!
