I liked the story idea. I wish the narrator changed her voice more for the male roles. It was a fun, light hearted read with a nice ending.

Great story and performance

The story is sometimes sad but mostly hopeful and adventurous. Katniss has to process her feelings for Peeta that change throughout the book and are conflicting at times. The narrator does a great job of using different voices when helpful and it’s not distracting but adds to the audio experience. Recommend!

Story
Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

I was intrigued by the characters early on. There was so much good build up to the first game created together, I almost thought it could end shortly after that, but a lot, lot more happened. Very real characters. Heartbreaking and heartwarming.

Story
In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian-American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food.

It’s quite a sad story, and also so touching and tender in many ways. I liked the connections to the Korean dishes and how food was a source of comfort and affection in her relationship with her mother. Would recommend.

Story
Michele Borba has been a teacher, educational consultant, and parent for 40 years - and she's never been more worried than she is about this current generation of kids. The high-achieving students she talks with every day are more accomplished, better educated, and more privileged than ever before. They're also more stressed, unhappier, and struggling with anxiety, depression, and burnout at younger and younger ages - "we're like pretty packages with nothing inside," said one young teen.

Helpful research and advice about what’s really important in parenting. A little dense, I kind of wanted the print version so I could take notes and underline key passages. It’s kind of geared toward helicopter tiger moms, but I would recommend for all parents.

Story
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

Narration was a bit monotone.

Story
Mi-ja and Young-sook, two girls living on the Korean island of Jeju, are best friends who come from very different backgrounds. When they are old enough, they begin working in the sea with their village’s all-female diving collective, led by Young-sook’s mother. As the girls take up their positions as baby divers, they know they are beginning a life of excitement and responsibility but also danger. This beautiful, thoughtful novel illuminates a world turned upside down, one where the women are in charge, engaging in dangerous, physical work, and the men take care of the children.
