Story
The day after my 43rd birthday, my husband announced he was trading me in - his words, not mine. The news was unwelcome at the time, but honestly? I needed a good goosing to get up and find my way to the door. So I was freed from the giant manual of expectations authored by my ex. That was the good news. The flip side was less happy. Due to living in a state not friendly to discarded wives, I was also relieved of the financial "security" I'd spent a lifetime accruing.

binge-worthy
Reviewed: 06-22-21
the narrator held a good pace and added nice accents to the different characters. I enjoyed the fact that the author added some good factoids to her world-building and it's got a good long draw on the romantic aspect which I find more intriguing. there are some occasional heavy-handed foreshadowing but not annoyingly so and that the main character follows her curiosity makes up for it.

7 chapters on fertilizer
Reviewed: 05-02-21
narration is awful and the first 7 chapters repeat themselves practically with the focus on fertilizer without even going into any detail.. not that you would want that many details on it.. don't waste your time

the concept is fun, the narrator is okay despite the fact that when the phrase "she said forcefully/demanded" all end up sounding like a beg or a whine.
but I just can't get over how many secrets she keeps that DO NOT NEED TO BE KEPT and it's more likely that she will lie rather than tell the truth. I only keep listening because I'm bored and I keep thinking "maybe she grow up in the next book"

at first I thought this was a nice little child assassin book... until I realized around chapter 30... I was audibly yelling at my sound system. I don't know when I got so emotionally invested, but at one point I was certain I was going to need anxiety meds.
that being said.. I scoured the web looking for book two until I remember it is an original... will there be a book two? it ends with the need for more
