Wow… I’m speechless!

I have read many novels by this author and was very disappointed with this one. First of all… the summary is not accurate to the story being told. The novel sounds like a teenager wrote it… or like a ghostwriter wrote it. I really tried to get through it… hoping that it was bound to get better, but it didn’t. Story was under developed and the male character didn’t even come across as being part of the mob. More than half way through the novel, and nothing much had happened between them. I hate giving bad reviews but this novel left much to be desired!

It will be interesting to see if this review gets posted. The story had so much potential and the male narrator was superb with his deep sexy voice. I had a hard time with the female voice it just didn’t sound normal. I respect other people’s se_ual preferences and therefore I expect mine to be respected as well. I’m not ok with the author making the main female character bi-se_ual and not posting a warning about it. If I would have known I would not have purchased the novel. This fact ruined the complete novel for me and then even though there was many steamy scenes… they did not make love until the last hour and a half of the novel. Everything after that seemed rushed. If this is the beginning of this series… I don’t think I want to know what comes next.

Mine… Yes, Please! 🔥

The storyline and characters were well developed as were the steamy love scenes. Both narrators did an amazing job in bringing the characters to life… and the male narrator with his deep sexy voice was the right choice for the alpha, possessive, dirty mouth and protective male character. This being a Duet-Narration was the icing on the cake with the chemistry and sexy banter between the main characters. After reading the reviews for this novel, I’m not going to lie… I had massive reservations about listening to this novel… but the male narrator’s deep voice and the fact that I have read other series from this author finally convinced me to go for it. Overall I’m glad I listened to this novel… but I do agree with some of the reviews. My sanity was tested… lol…when as predicted by the reviews and 1/3 of the novel in… the background music that made absolutely no sense started playing along with the background sound affects… I hated every minute of it… especially in the romantic scenes. It was not needed or wanted. Also, the woman character had too much internal dialogue going on and it was a little overkill… especially in the middle of a love scene when her internal monologue had nothing to do with what was happening. It took away from the scene. There was one time in the middle of a steamy scene that he asked her a question… she went into a 5 minute internal monologue and by the time she answered his question… I had already forgotten what he had asked her… lol. There was also a lot of the characters’ background history repeated over and over again in different conversations and internal monologues… we only need to hear it one time. This probably went on and on throughout the novel and taking about 1 to 2 hours that could have been used for more romantic scenes or to give the end of the story more time to resolve itself. Just because I’m honest does not mean I didn’t like the novel… in fact I quite enjoyed it as well as the funny banter towards the end of the novel between the brothers and the main characters. Onto the series that follows this novel, can’t wait to hear each character in their own story. P.S. Even the male on the cover of this novel is gorgeous and he even resembles the main character… and yes most people that don’t like the cover models won’t read or listen to the novel.

Mine… oh my ❤️🔥❤️

These two authors give the story a different twist, it’s a combination of naughty and nice. I wish the storyline would have been developed a bit more since it has potential. There are a couple of characters that you will love to hate… that’s an understatement!!! The love scenes are very steamy, and if you love an alpha male that is possessive, but knows how to love and take care of his woman,.. than this novel is for you. The male narrator has a deep voice that brings you to your knees especially in chapter 24. The female narrator is great as well. Both of them bring the characters to life. The one thing that could have made this novel better would have been a Duet Narration… where each character only narrates their character from start to finish.

This author is new to me and I most say I enjoyed how well and balanced Piper Stone developed the storyline, and characters… along with the very steamy and hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 scenes between the main characters. If you like possessive alpha mafia males that know how to take care of their women in and outside of the bedroom… this novel is for you, it will not disappoint. There is no cheating and it comes with a happy ending. The male narrator has a deep sexy voice to die for and the female narrator has a pleasant voice. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to a novel that has kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next and with sexu@l scenes that were so hot I practically needed a cold shower… lol. One of the things I loved was that the female character was not wimpy, but strong and challenged him every chance she got. The only thing that would have made this novel better is if it would have been done in Duet-Narration… where each performer reads the dialogue and action of their character across all chapters and sections like a conversation… female speaks for only female and male only speaks for the male. I’ll definitely be listening to more novels from this author!

Finally… The End!

A month later… I came across this novel in my library and saw that I never finished it. A minute later from the moment I hit play, I remembered why! I had stopped listening to it because I could no longer take the female’s continuous “internal monologue” that just never stopped and got under my skin. Don’t get me wrong, I like this author and that is the only reason why I had left this novel half way through and continued to the other 2 novels in the series which I loved. This novel has very steamy scenes with a gorgeous alpha male and the duet-narration was superb… but if the nagging internal monologue had been eliminated, the book would have been done in half the time. After listening to the following novels from this series I was disappointed that the last 2 novels are not available on audible; since I hardly have the time nowadays to sit and read a good book.

MM, MFM, MF… Not what was disclosed

In the author’ notes… this book is describe as being MFM… and therefore I was not excepting MM or a very dark story line of the aftermath of human trafficking which was not discussed as possible triggers. I believe as a reader we should have the right to decide if we want to listen to these scenarios or not, since we are paying for these novels. It’s unfortunate because I really like this author and the Chicago Ruthless Series until now. Joey’s story is still my favorite. Even though the duet narration was great I could not listen to the whole story as I found myself fast forwarding through certain scenes. In the end I wish I would have not listened to this novel. It could have been a great story but it was ruined by the unexpected scenes.

No Tapping Out

The Duet Narration (both characters speaking their own parts back to back) totally makes this well written novel one of the best I’ve heard in a while. You can cut the sexual tension between them with a knife. The romantic scenes are super sexy, hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and steamy and are well balanced with a great dark mafia storyline.

If you love a strong, dominant alpha male who is possessive towards the woman he loves then this novel is for you! Joe Arden is the perfect male narrator for the main character with his deep and sexy voice that melts your panties away every time he says “Mine”. The female narrator does a wonderful job as well. Together both narrators bring these characters to life and as their love grows so does their need to be together.

The storyline is well developed and the funny banter between the characters in the novel will leave you laughing. I totally recommend this novel it was that good!

My Perfect 10 🥰

Love this author’s writing. Wonderful job with the storyline and character development. I’ve listened to the whole series out of order of course since I left this novel for last, and I must say that the whole series was amazing.

I enjoyed the witty and funny banter between the 4 guy friends from the different novels in the series. After listening to the whole series it was nice how they all contributed to each other’s stories even though each novel could be listened to as a standalone.

The sexual chemistry between the main two characters was off the chart as the romance scenes were hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and steamy! Their happy ending made the roller coaster ride all worth it.

Even though his family is super dysfunctional and his ex is weird to say the least… it all works out so hang in there… lol. I still would recommend all the novels in the series… you are going to fall in love with them.

But… I can’t believe I’m saying this…
so here we go… I totally hated the male voice in the novel and at times I don’t know how I made it to the end 😭… it was so bad that I actually preferred listening to the female voice do the male voice, and I have never said that before or will again… LOL. He sounded like he was trying to live up to his name “Echo”… because when he did the other character’s voices he sounded normal. There is no way that is his voice.

What could have made this novel better… a different male narrator and a Dual narration. I did like the female voice, it went with the character.

Totally Devoted

This is my first novel by this author and I must say it won’t be my last. She did an awesome job with the storyline and character development. It was the perfect balance between the story and the nonstop, hot, 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 steamy romantic scenes which Joe Arden only made more intense with his sexy and deep voice. The female narrative was just as good and together they brought the characters to life. The only way it could have been better if they would have done a Dual narration.

I appreciated the potential trigger disclosures at the beginning of the novel which eliminated any surprises… since this is a dark mafia story!

There were some scenes that were a little out of character for the head of the mafia; and their lack of communication at times always got them both into trouble that affect the lives of those around them… and was annoying to say the least.

But their love story was sweet and their dedication to one another was epic. If you love a strong alpha male that protects, takes charge when he needs to, loves and defends his woman… you are going to love this novel!!!
