Proof of Concept "we could have lost the war !"

History the way it could have been . The idea that the allies might have lost is not as farfetched as you that think. The author delves into the scenarios and conditions that made up the Second World War in Europe and the Pacific. Victory was not a forgone conclusion and the leadership on both sides made decisions that could have changed the outcome. A good study of the war.

Story
War as I Knew It is the personal and candid account of General George S. Patton, Jr.'s celebrated, relentless crusade across Europe during World War II. First published in 1947, this absorbing narrative draws on Patton's vivid memories of battle and his detailed diaries, from the moment the Third Army exploded onto the Brittany Peninsula to the final Allied casualty report. The result is not only a grueling, human account of daily combat but also a valuable chronicle of the strategies and fiery personality of a brilliant warrior.

Is the dialogue used as a first person based on diaries or has the author taken license? Great listen except for the origin of the narrative.

Story
There was nobody like Casey before him and no one like him since. For more than 50 years, Casey Stengel lived baseball, first as a player (he was the only person in history to play for all the New York teams - the Dodgers, Giants, Yankees, and Mets) and then as a manager (for the Yankees and Mets, among others). He made his biggest mark on the game revolutionizing the role of manager while winning an astounding 10 pennants and seven World Series championships (including five straight!) with the Yankees.

Well written . Covers the golden years of baseball Amerca's game.. He was a player's manager . Under pressure from the owners. The fans expected miracles ,many times he produced. This is a first person, with a minimal addition from the writter.I recommend it to anyone enjoys sports. If you don't know baseball you will after this.

Story
At the end of the nineteenth century, the United States emerged as an economic colossus in command of a new empire. Yet for the next 40 years the United States eschewed the kind of aggressive grand strategy that had marked other rising imperial powers in favor of a policy of moderation.
In Power and Restraint, Jeffrey W. Meiser explores why the United States - counter to widely accepted wisdom in international relations theory - chose the course it did.
