Story
For thousands of years, the Darkness has chosen its champions—granting power, feeding ambition, and demanding sacrifice to those it favored. The Vampire Paul is not this champion. He is, however, cunning and patient. Ryet, cursed by his demonic transformation, is bound by blood to Syrsee, a witch whose very existence fuels his hunger and his torment. Each drop of her blood brings him closer to becoming the monster he fears, even as their connection grows intoxicatingly intimate. Is it love between them? Or just an addiction?

I literally have no words. This book pulls you all over the place and is so unlike any of Julie's other books. I'm confused, I have so many questions, but I'm also EXTREMELY invested in what happens! I'm glad we don't have to wait to long for book 3 though! I couldn't go another 2 years without answers lol. If you haven't already, reread book 1 before jumping in. There's so much info in both books. I'm glad I went back before starting this one. If you're a huge Huss fan, like myself, you will probably like this. It went in a totally different direction than I thought it would, but also a lot of ways it did. lol Too hard go explain, just listen.. like now!

My grandma gave me these words of wisdom just before she died. Then she told me to run. Because if the old witch is dying, then he needs a new one. And that’s me. This is my curse. I am the vampire’s power. I am the vampire’s strength. I am the vampire’s food. And he is very, very hungry.

I love everything about this book! The story, the plot, the narration. It takes all the traditional lore of Vampires and throws it out. She has written a completely original vampire story. It's refreshing. I can't wait to dive into book 2! This is my second listen as a refresh for book 2. so glad I listened again. There was so much that I forgot about. Give it a listen. it has everything and the spice is perfection as always!

Story
I don't want an alpha. I don't want the legendary Murphy pack as stepbrothers. I don't want to share a house with the four boys every girl in school wants. And I definitely don't want their breath on my skin, their scent in my nose, their marks on my neck. Their father told them to look after me. But he doesn't realize just how they've decided to twist that directive. I'm a pet omega for them to play with. And they're about to give me everything they decide I need.

These narrators are amazing! I had never listened to a book with either of them, so I was hesitant. but they absolutely killed it! This book was so spicy, but had a great story line. Step-brother alpha wolves going after their step sister that happens to be their fated mate. She has a very rough upbringing with a dad who was trying to sell her first heat. But these brothers are determined to keep her safe. They have lots of ups and downs, but get their HEA. Give it a read, it's a stand-alone so NO cliffhanger!

Story
As a vampyr who was born to fulfill a prophecy, my life was planned before I was created. I obeyed every rule, and I became the perfect vampyr, but one night changed everything. Rejected by the man who was destined for me, who was supposed to love me forever, I do the only thing I can. I flee into the night, nursing my broken heart. Being a rejected mate corrupts the soul, however, and in this game of Courts and Kings, nobody wins. Nobody except the monsters in the shadows.

story's decent.. TONS of spice!
Reviewed: 03-25-25
Stella Hunter is my favorite female narrator, her and Vanessa Moyen are usually an auto buy for me. Her performance was spectacular as always, Tor Tom however... not so much. His regular voice is fine, but voicing the female and other accents just pulls you right out of the story. This book may be better to actually read instead of listen.
Also it has some bestiality of a sort.. it's her mates, but in their animal form while she's in Vampyr form. That was a bit much for me and I usually like the smutty books. But that wasn't hot... just weird and gross lol. If you can look past that and it's free, then give it a go, but be warned it's like 70% smut, 30% story. The actual story line was very good. But it was made too long from all the unnecessary smut.. so listen at your own risk lol

I'm Matt Hadder. I've been called ruthless, savage - even brutal - by the men and women who work for me. And I've earned my reputation. Wonderland Inc., a party planning organization for every major player in the world, is Oz, and I'm its Wizard. I can make anything - drugs, prostitutes, deals - appear for a night and disappear just as quickly. This doesn't make me good or bad - it makes me essential. Wonderland Inc. was my life, until a beautiful contradiction of innocence and impurity, obedience and rebelliousness named Alex Little stepped in.

Story
Being the twin of a movie star isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Eva is glamorous, sweet, and everything I’m not. Believe me, every person in my life has made that crystal clear. The press calls me the Ice Queen, leaving pack after pack broken in my wake. I wish it were true. All I’ve ever wanted was a pack—to be loved and cherished the way an Omega was meant to be—but now I’ve given up hope. Every group I meet wants a copy of my sister. Let’s not even mention the ones who called me by her name.

A "shifter" romance, where they NEVER shift!!
Reviewed: 03-13-25
So this is supposed to be a paranormal romance, but it's really not. The whole world everyone is an Alpha, Beta or Omega, but they never shift.. Not once in 14 hours. The FMC is weak and whiney. It's mostly smut, which i normally don't mind.. but it's just her begging for their knot. I'm Glad it was a free book, I won't finish the series. It took 2 weeks to finish a book that I'd normally finish in 2-3 days. It's basically a contemporary romance with no twists or anything that keeps you engaged. I don't normally leave bad reviews. But I wanted to warn you not to waste a credit. if it's free still and you're bored and want some basic smut, give it a shot. Narrators did ok. I love Aiden Snow, he's why I finished it. The female narrators did ok, just overly dramatic and Breathy on the spicy scenes.

Story
I offer advice for a living. I encourage my patients to make wise decisions, and I help them help themselves to walk through life stronger, healthier, happier. Isn’t that the goal; to live our best lives? If only I practiced what I preach. I wasn’t always like this. Every move I make lately is the opposite of smart. These questionable life choices are a new development. They started the day a certain Vitale barged into my life. Brand Vitale might look like a hero to the rest of the world, but looks can be deceiving.

Story
It was dark, and in my defense, he was tall, muscled, and smelled like the most tempting sin. I couldn't resist, and the second he touched me, I knew I was never going to be the same. It was a night filled with the kind of intensity a woman could only ever dream of. Nothing could have tainted such perfectness. At least, that's what I thought. Because the delicious man I let rail me into oblivion isn't the perfect stranger I thought he was. No, he's anything but.

Narrators ate top notch and the reason I bought the book. the story is pretty good, lots of twists, when I thought I had it figured it would twist another way. I binged it in about 4 days. has a nice HEA, but it's very dark in the middle. If you can't handle violent but consensual sex acts or mention of sexual trauma, then I'd steer clear. Narration is 5 stars, story is 4 stars because it's drawn out and a lot of repetition, spice is 3 1/2 stars. some graphic scenes but it's not the whole book. Also it's military based and deals with PTSD a lot.

Decent story about witches and ekementals
Reviewed: 12-16-24
The overall story was pretty good, I love Troy Duran, but his parts are few and far between. It took me like 3 1/2 weeks to get through this, I'd normally finish a series like this in under a week. I'm not sure if it was the way it was written or the females pronunciation, but words that are always abbreviated, she uses the full words and it kind or pulled me out of the story each time. like instead of saying "it's ok" she would say "it is ok" but with a pause between each word. if it was a descriptive part, she narrates beautifully. but if it's a quoting part, it's almost robotic. But really thats my only complaint. spice is decent, the story is good, I may have enjoyed it more if I just read the actual book.
