Story
No communication. Limited power. An unbreakable will to survive. A violent blast of solar magnetic radiation plunges much of Earth into darkness. From the decaying orbit of the powerless ISS to a devolving Southeast Texas neighborhood and a secret doomsday bunker buried deep underneath the Colorado Rockies, The SpaceMan Chronicles tells the story of a stranded astronaut, his family and friends on the ground, and a shadowy conspiracy to rebuild the world in the shape of a new society.

Good story

I always like this author and the narration, but “from which they had come” all the time is tedious. I know it’s proper English, but no one talks like that. Or from which no one talks.

Why haven’t I been reading his books?

A very intelligent book. Very well written and thought out. Intriguing and nail biting. He definitely has his own writing style. I haven’t found a book I liked so much since reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. ( I know this book was written first, but I just became aware of this author recently) so good!

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

My Favorite Book of all time
Reviewed: 12-31-23
This is my second time through. I rarely ever re-listen/read books, but after 2 years of trying to find a book as good, I decided to. First of all, I love the hard science; there was a lot of thought and care put into every detail. The main character is very likable and relatable. He was an above intelligence scientist/teacher that sees himself without grandeur. Spoiler ahead. Rocky the alien is also very lovable. When the two of them are working together, it’s just pure joy!

Story
After an exchange student with bubonic plague turns up in a Reno hospital, a contractor with identical symptoms dies in Los Angeles. The government‘s official stance is that the cases are isolated and the outbreak is under control. But George Mack, a 30-year public health veteran, quickly realizes this is no ordinary plague. The death toll is too high, and the spread pattern make no sense. As Reno’s hospitals fill with victims, Mack begins to believe that there is more to the epidemic than the CDC is letting on - and that he must take drastic steps if he hopes to save his city.

I like the story quite a bit, but I have to really concentrate to follow along. This guy reads so fast without any emotion. No voice changes for different characters and doesn’t pause at all between thoughts.

Story
They are coming. The countdown has begun. First visible only as blips on a telescope image, the discovery of objects approaching from Jupiter's orbit immediately sets humanity on edge. NASA doesn't even bother to deny the alien ships' existence. The popular Astral space app (broadcasting from the far side of the moon and accessible by anyone with Internet) has already shown the populace what is coming.

Story
Once Homo sapiens reigned supreme, spreading from star system to star system in an empire that encountered no alien life and thus knew no enemy.... save itself. As had happened many times before, the most primal human instincts rose up, only this time armed with the advanced scientific knowledge to create a genetically engineered smart virus that quickly wiped out humanity to the last man. That man is Ruslan, the sole known surviving human being in the universe.

It was OK. The narration was weird. The Rezan sounded like Ferengi. It was just kind of hard to take anything serious. The story was pretty good, but drawn out.
