The thing that stuck with me the most is the fact that we evolved and we're wired to have a partner that we trust and we can actually experience more freedom living life with the one we know we belong with.

Story
The Christmas season offers little cheer for Eileen Dunlop, an unassuming yet disturbed young woman trapped between her role as her alcoholic father's caretaker in a home whose squalor is the talk of the neighborhood and a day job as a secretary at the boys' prison, filled with its own quotidian horrors. Consumed by resentment and self-loathing, Eileen tempers her dreary days with perverse fantasies and dreams of escaping to the big city.

So slow to develop
Reviewed: 05-28-20
I bought this book because David Sedaris had recommended it in his Master Class, but I must be deficient in one or more ways because it was just so slow to develop into more than than an extremely detailed description of what its like to be a young woman.

One Colonel Ardenti, who has unnaturally black, brilliantined hair, a carefully groomed mustache, wears maroon socks, and who once served in the Foreign Legion, starts it all. He tells three Milan book editors that he has discovered a coded message about a Templar Plan, centuries old and involving Stonehenge, a plan to tap a mystic source of power far greater than atomic energy.
