Wholesome adventures fun

Great story which helps the listener redefine their thoughts when capturing details around them in everyday life. These fun stories are underpinned by an excellent performance from the narrator that draws the listener into smart fun adventures. Sometimes the stories suffer from plot convenience and pattern repeat, but this is overlooked by the thrill of the game!

Complex winding story with fantastic narration
Reviewed: 01-05-23
Very long story so he prepared to try and keep up with the characters and their behavior. Following the writing is usually a delicious exploration of characters and emotions which is significantly enhanced by the narrator's commitment to the story. The story is also an educational study of human behavior and motivation. Recommended for both growth and pleasure.

Story
In 2009 Clinton Romesha of Red Platoon and the rest of the Black Knight Troop were preparing to shut down Command Outpost Keating, the most remote and inaccessible in a string of bases built by the US military in Nuristan and Kunar in the hope of preventing Taliban insurgents from moving freely back and forth between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Three years after Keating's construction, the army was finally ready to concede what the men on the ground had known immediately: It was simply too isolated and too dangerous to defend.

I guess we are all the intended audience. Although First Lady Obama owes nothing to the United States or the rest of the prying world, in this book she has exposered herself, the President, and the rest of her family to us, letting us in behind the scenes to experience the adventure of her life and time in the White House. I appreciate her insight and willingness to reveal her perspective on things that happened that the rest of us had to analyze through the filter of media. It is a very insightful book with wisdom and positivity throughout. I especially appreciated the endearing moments she shared with us. Thank you First Lady Obama for sharing and enlightening through your story. I also thank you and your family for it's sacrifices and service to the country.

The lessons are well thought out and excellently constructed identifying critical patterns in history and exposing how geographical attributes have influenced the development of civilization. The professor is imaginative and engaging, really functioning as a tour guide through history and relating it to the reader and present times. His approach connects the listener to history and thereby exposing it's significance.

Story
Lithuanian immigrant Jurgis Rudkus has invested every last hope in achieving a prosperous new start in a new country. But the only job open to him - in the appalling stockyards of Packingtown, Chicago - will become a brutal, dispiriting, and dangerous challenge to his pride, his family, his life, and his faith in the American Dream. A scathing condemnation of capitalism, corporate corruption, and the exploitation of the working class, The Jungle was a sensation when first published. It stands as one the greatest and most influential proletarian novels ever written.

a story to study
Reviewed: 04-29-19
Very well narrated, the book explores agrarian and industrial attitudes setting up the conflict between capitalistic and socialistic views. As the main character journeys from hope to despair to hope again, this book should be revisited every 20 years to compare how the reader's attitudes have also changed.

Story
The retired four-star general and and best-selling author of My Share of the Task shares a powerful new leadership model. Former General Stanley McChrystal held a key position for much of the War on Terror, as head of the Joint Special Operations Command. In Iraq, he found that despite the vastly superior resources, manpower, and training of the US Military, Al Qaeda had an advantage because of its structure as a loose network of small, independent cells. To defeat such an agile enemy, JSOC had to change its focus from efficiency to adaptability.

Surprisingly good format for the subject
Reviewed: 03-23-17
The book integrates academic, private, and military concepts on leadership, management, and organizational structuring. As this was assigned reading I did not have high expectations. The book uses relevant scenarios as examples to explain the concept spanning private companies and government agencies. I really appreciate the section recaps that provide a quick to the point list of the points the authors made in the section. Great format and surprisingly enjoyable.
