Story
High school is supposed to be about studying, socializing, and marching-band practice. Not fighting vampires. Then one night flipped my world inside out-now, my life sucks. But it isn't all bad. I'm at a slayer academy, learning things like the real origin of vamps and how to make serious weapons out of thin air. Every last one of them will pay for what they did. I'm doing great. Until I come face-to-face with the actual vampire prince.

Angry lead character
Reviewed: 05-23-24
The lead character was so annoying and angry from start to finish. Hopefully if there is a second book this will not be her main emotion.

Tease/Annoying Narration
Reviewed: 02-11-22
This book has more descriptive moments that don’t involve romance. I can zone out and not miss anything. It would have been better if the male narrator was the voice of the male (during the entire book). The female narrator’s tone/voice can be annoying when she reads the male character’s lines.

Long Whiney Road
Reviewed: 10-02-21
Ok…I don’t know why people are transported to this world, and so many things that should have been explained or developed were overlooked. This was a very long book and I recommend it if you need a distraction. Don’t try to make it make sense. There are too many whiney moments for the main characters. One is angry at the world and it’s for NO REASON. the skeleton and the Mage had the best attitudes. I could fall asleep with a chapter playing, wake up, and still be in the same story loop. It moved extremely slow and picked up so suddenly that I needed to go back and play a chapter, but I couldn’t stomach it. With that said, if you like fantasy, gaming, mystery, multi storylines, naivety, and white women (no disrespect) struggling in a new society…this book is for you. Don’t try to make it make sense, just listen. Maybe book 2 is better.

A lot of unnecessary dialogue
Reviewed: 09-30-20
There are moments (chapter 11/12) where the unnecessary dialogue goes on and on. The female narrator’s voice is annoying at times. This book in the series has some of the best love scenes, but be ready to fast forward through the female lead and her beat friend’s dialogue and the marathon. The marathon dialogue adds no value to the story.

Okay story. The female lead was too insecure and it took forever to get to the interaction between the two characters. Blink and you’ll miss the good scenes.
