Story
Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was 13. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

This book is pretty good. It gave me all the feels. But it did read a little like a YA story. It didn’t shatter my world but it was good. Ya. The narrator did great.

Not good
Reviewed: 09-06-23
This story exceeds the confines of my imagination. The same story could have been told effectively without the bizarre idea of humans mutating to animals. The “are you kidding me?” look I had in my face the whole time got stuck. Not good. Skip it.

This was fluffy, unsubstantial, and predictable from the first chapter. It only got interesting in the last 20 minutes and just when you think it won’t go the way you knew it would go, it flopped and went that way anyway. I put it on 1.5x so it would be over sooner than later.

Story
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

It’s hard to get through a story when you find yourself hating the main character. Tate was annoying. Borderline dumb. I’m no prude but sex scene after sex scene was gratuitous. I’m disappointed. Not sure why this got such rave reviews.

A full two thirds of the words in this book are unnecessary. Read the first few chapters and the last few and you’ll be good to go. The narrator sounded like a bad actor reading her lines.

Story
My Thoughts Be Bloody, a sweeping family saga, revives an extraordinary figure whose name has been missing, until now, from the story of President Lincoln's death. Edwin Booth, John Wilkes's older brother by four years, was in his day the biggest star of the American stage. Without an account of Edwin Booth, author Nora Titone argues, the real story of Lincoln's assassin has never been told.
