Story
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Again great story line but…
Reviewed: 01-25-25
Again another book in the series that can’t pass the opportunity to repeat the same detailed play by play sex scenes every time they meet. I give the author credit this time she did skip one orgasm that didn’t need turned into a chapter.
You could remove all that and this would still be an amazing story. But I guess you can’t get women to read fantasy books without glazing the donut (sad women have more death to them than that).
The reader this has the annoying habit of in stress scenes turning the supposed bad ass lightning wielder into a five year old girl who can’t find her blanket is annoying.
Ignore all that and this is a book you won’t want to

We’ve come a long way since the days of Wholesome Grandpa streaming. Transitioning from those blissful, quiet nights, Artorian finds himself in a heap of trouble, turmoil, and change. Plus that tiny detail which involves a burning need to Incarnate, while the Heavenly of Copyright chases him with a rolled up newspaper.

Story
He stands between two worlds, a savior and a destroyer to both. Dragons and aegres will fall. But one can turn the tide. One who stands in the shadow of kings. Such has been seen by the doomed. The weight of ten thousand lives and all the realm besides now sits on Joran's shoulders. So much has already been sacrificed to bring him to the ancient doors of Drakanan, where he might take on the mantle of Dragon Rider and usher in a new age of heroes. Hate to see this end.. but well done

It is sad to see this series end. The last chapter was a good one. You’ll be considering there is no way there isn’t going to be more books and then by the end every thing is buttoned up tightly with the exception of story line. Maybe something in the future will come to close that hanging chad.

Story
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

I will say this story is great. However, I don’t know if it’s to get female readers but no one needs a play by play of every time characters have sex. Also the reader’s enthusiasm will drive you crazy but she does get you in the moment. And finally remember how Harry Potter only had one trick… yeah reminds me of that with dragons

Story
Destroying the portals between worlds was supposed to force the entity out of Rale. Instead, it's trapped him there. This has cut Nolost off from much of his power, buying some time to try to stop him from annihilating the world. Dante and Blays' last hope lies in finding someone or something called the Burdan rah Saylan. Knowing nothing about the Burdan except for their name, they travel far to the east into lands they've never heard of.

As always this series never disappoints and the character interactions are flawless. What saddens me is I preordered the next book and saw it’s the last. This series was the first audiobook that o ever listened to and I was hooked. Fast forward to today o listen to close to 100 audio books a year. This series has been like an old friend you look forward to visiting once or twice a year. Now it will end. Thank you Edward Robertson and Tim Gerard Reynolds.
