Story
The Kennedy name has long been synonymous with wealth, power, glamor, and—above all else—integrity. But this carefully constructed veneer hides a dark truth: the pattern of Kennedy men physically and psychologically abusing women and girls, leaving a trail of ruin and death in each generation’s wake. Through decades of scandal after scandal—from sexual assaults to reputational slander, suicides to manslaughter—the family and their defenders have kept the Kennedy brand intact.

I was born in 60’s and thought I knew a good deal about the family as an Irish Catholic but boy was I wrong ! I knew nothing. Of course we weren’t there and much is conjecture I was shocked only by the accusation that Joe had sexually molested his daughter Rosemary. That’s a bridge too far ! No evidence was presented and seems horribly unfair to accuse someone when they can’t defend themselves . That goes to most of the book. Was he an SOB ? ABSOLUTELY!
Wish author had left this out. The rest of book would have more credibility if she had left it out . No regrets buying this title .

The pilot has a heart attack, and the plane crashes into one of the largest stretches of harsh and remote land in the United States.

Difficult to get invested in the characters . On the outset who is planning on rushing home from a trip to get married the next day ?? Who talks about his wife in the most glorious way if she were not obviously DEAD ?! Usually novels are better than movie. In this case movie much better.

Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Story
As a panicked world goes into lockdown, Lucy Barton is uprooted from her life in Manhattan and bundled away to a small town in Maine by her ex-husband and on-again, off-again friend, William. For the next several months, it’s just Lucy, William, and their complex past together in a little house nestled against the moody, swirling sea. Rich with empathy and emotion, Lucy by the Sea vividly captures the fear and struggles that come with isolation, as well as the hope, peace, and possibilities that those long, quiet days can inspire.

I purchased this Audible in 2018 and I keep going back to it . I thought I was going to listen about spiritual help to help me cope with the sudden death of my son , age 25, by a freak accident. Book absolutely helped me spiritually cope but So Much More! Saying goodbye to a friendship, what I idealized my marriage would be , etc. I am now a huge fan!

Even as Demi was becoming the highest paid actress in Hollywood, however, she was always outrunning her past. Throughout her rise to fame and during some of the most pivotal moments of her life, Demi battled addiction, body image issues, and childhood trauma that would follow her for years - all while juggling a skyrocketing career and at times negative public perception.

Since we are the same age and also lived in Los Angeles I identified what it was like in the 80's and found her telling her story to be brave and one feels she definitely has evolved as a person into someone I hope she loves now. Something definitely fishy about her 3 daughters cutting her off AFTER she completed rehab. Certainly believe she omitted a lot which would explain many people in her life who let her down. She has a lot of that@!! She is rather self obsessed which is probably why she is so successful in the self obsessed culture of Hollywood. Period.

As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

Story
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.
