Author of the National Book Award-winning All the Pretty Horses, Cormac McCarthy is one of the most provocative American stylists to emerge in the last century. The striking novel Blood Meridian offers an unflinching narrative of the brutality that accompanied the push west on the 1850s Texas frontier.

It was an interesting listen. The voice over artist really made the book for me. I'll never not hear him as Judge Holden. His performance made all of this come alive to me. Bully for that guy.

I'm beginning to love Aaron Clarey as one of my favorite writers. I love the Menu (especially Chapter 6) as well, acting as my introduction to Mr. Clarey's work. I found the advice to be sound, and something I'd pass to any younger person or my own kids one day. I wish i'd had this advice 15-13 years ago when it would have meant the most, but better late then never. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

This was an enjoyable listen. After all one can never know too many ways to communicate and connect with someone. I found some of the advice to be reminiscent of words my father gave me when I was much younger. If you have the credit or the means monetarily, I highly recommend getting this audiobook and giving it a listen.

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

I knew some of these legends, but listening to Neil Gaiman's retellings I didn't mind hearing again.
I've been fascinated by Norse mythology since I first heard mention of it in the Mask (1994). If you yourself are a mythology geek or just love good story telling, I hope you enjoy this audio book more than I did.

I wanted to own this audiobook from the time I heard it existed. A situation with former co-worker Madeira a must have, so I could have the game inside going forward. I took a day trip from Virginia up into Pennsylvania, with this audiobook as my constant companion. I look forward to my listening to any of Mr. Curry's other books.

What an impressive production. The ensemble voice talent, sound effects and the over all conjoined narrative was unlike anything I've ever experienced. I feel as though I have been spoiled with the author, Neil Gaiman acting as narrator and the incomparable James McAvoy assuming the role of the one and only Morpheous, Lord of Dreams I am afraid a movie or streaming service series will fall woefully short. 👍

Story
Ronald Reagan today is a conservative icon, celebrated for transforming the American domestic agenda and playing a crucial part in ending communism in the Soviet Union. In his masterful new biography, H. W. Brands argues that Reagan, along with FDR, was the most consequential president of the 20th century. Reagan took office at a time when the public sector, after a half century of New Deal liberalism, was widely perceived as bloated and inefficient, an impediment to personal liberty.

REAGAN: the man, the myth, the president
Reviewed: 10-01-20
Whew! I believe this volume is longer than the Bible itself, but sufficient to the occasion of chronicling the life of a man of world renown who lived almost a century. I was born in the 1st year of George Bush the first, and had no knowledge what so ever of our 40th president. It was about 2010 on the eve of what would have been Reagan's centennial birthday, I discovered and purchased a 2nd hand copy of An American Life. I immediately came to like this guy (well at least until the 30s or 40s) after getting into the book chapter after chapter.
Although my political inclinations are far from his own, I believe I came to understand and appreciate Ronald Reagan, human/ personal failings and gamesmenship aside he holds an important and largely positive position in American history and if you believe George Friedman (the Next 100 Years) he set the tune for the very age we live (scheduled to end in 2028 or 2032). Considering the current political climate that we endure in this country, we could do a hell of a lot worse (and HAVE) than to have the Old Gipper back as Commander in chief. Hell I'd take George W. Bush!😁
