Horror Comedy? Yes
Reviewed: 03-27-23
When I was told about this I was very interested, yes, but also skeptical. A horror comedy? What? Well, I think they did it. I don't typically read horrors and while this wasn't making me shake in my boots it had the elements. And it was still really fun! I'm glad I read it in the end.

Favorite book this month

I really liked how this book was written! I felt like the character didn't loose the fact she came from a modern day setting despite the majority of the book being set elsewhere. The characters were all unique, some cause some strong opinions on my end but that to me just shows how well written it was. Very fun!

I wouldn't have picked this up if my book group wasn't doing an egyptian theme this month, but I am glad I chose to read this one! As much as I love books on strong powerful women, sometimes they feel repetitive. Not this one. It was unique and I was intrigued and hooked to the story. It is one of my top books this month. I loved it!

It is dark, I will say that first, but it was (to me) a fantastic retelling! It was dark and twisted but there was lore behind the characters. So good! I need to get the sequels!

So much more than I expected
Reviewed: 02-24-23
I don't know what I was expecting, just that I didn't think it was gonna be as good as it was. I felt it was a very unique story and world. The characters were all different, the challenge was clear from the start while still having that mystery aspect. It was a fun book that I intend on reading again.

Story
Alexander Woodroe has it all. Charm. Sex appeal. Wealth. Fame. A starring role as Cupid on TV’s biggest show, Gods of the Gates. But the showrunners have wrecked his character, he's dogged by old demons, and his post-show future remains uncertain. When all that reckless emotion explodes into a bar fight, the tabloids and public agree: His star is falling. Enter Lauren Clegg, the former ER therapist hired to keep him in line. Compared to her previous work, watching over handsome but impulsive Alex shouldn’t be especially difficult.

Best of the series!
Reviewed: 02-24-23
I love this series, but so far, of the 4 books, this is by far my favorite! I feel like there was a solid plot and story outside of it just being spicy. The characters were beautifully flawed and I loved the little nods towards the original fairy tale. It was so good, I know I'll be reading it again.
