Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

It took me a bit...But then I loved it!
Reviewed: 12-27-22
It took me about 70 chapters of Book 1 before I fell in love with the characters and story. I am now on Book 3 and still love it and probably even more. I am not saying that the beginning is bad, but I was either not giving it my full attention or something else, but then it really just clicked for me. I love the characters, love the voice acting. It is top notch, seriously, a really good time. Looking forward to making my through the rest of the series.

Having survived the first wave of invading players, Oren now seeks to strengthen his clan. With the Breeder's Den destroyed and most of Goblin's Gorge's resources devoted to rebuilding, his best hope lies in creating an army of golems. But for that, he needs Viridium, a rare metal that can only be obtained from hobgoblin towns, where Oren and his clan of goblins are viewed as nothing more than potential slaves.

I love this story and love the audible version. So sad that I am done with book 3 already. I have so much fun listening to this. All I can say is keep up the great work and try to get to book 4 as soon as you can.

Not that great

Far from the best in the series. As others mentioned, it's all over the place which drove me nuts. Steve never did it like this before, at least not the way remember the others. Narrator kind of drove me nuts. There were good and bad parts with the voice. Sure I am looking forward to read what happens, but to me so much could have been cut out of this book. Not sure why the editor felt this was good or did they just rush to get this out to get something extra because of the movie. Sorry Steve, not up to par with the rest of your books.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this book (and series). So much fun, such great detail, amazing character building. I hope there are 100 more books following these. Luke Daniels is amazing and the type of narrator I hope to hear from all narraters. I couldn't wait to get back to my car, or have some alone time to listen. It pulled me in and never let go. Please keep the series going!!!!

Story
Kwan Wilson was a high school basketball star living in San Diego when a tragic accident changed his life in ways no one could predict. He only looked at his phone for a few seconds, but that was all the time it took to crash his car into a telephone pole, killing his mother and paralyzing him from the waist down. After the accident, his father, Admiral Douglas Wilson, sent him off to live with his maternal grandmother in South Florida.

Absolutely Loved This Book

Would you listen to Sharkman again? Why?
It was a great performance by Andrew Eiden. Loved the story and action. Characters were great.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sharkman?
Learning the true feelings of the father.
What about Andrew Eiden’s performance did you like?
Overall tone of the read was great. Very easy to listen to. Just a great job overall.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Well that would be great, but never get a chance to sit there for that long of a period.
Any additional comments?
While I know it is all summed up for now, it would be interesting to see more stories come where he can use his abilities to help. I think there is an opportunity to make a series. Really loved the book, if you are a fan of Steve, give it a whirl. I think you will really enjoy it.

Now, a near-death experience suffered while on expedition in the Sargasso Sea has caused these long-forgotten memories to resurface.

Fantastic Book, Great Characters, Great Narration
Reviewed: 04-20-17
Where does The Loch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I believe that The Loch may have just moved to the top of my list. P.J. Ochlan did a wonderful job with all the character voices and really made me feel that I was listening to the characters. Was very happy to see the P.J. also performed the next book, Vostok as well.
Who was your favorite character and why?
While True was a great character for so many reasons, Zachary Wallace was still a great protagonist and kept me entertained the entire time. Great character. Angus, gotta love him though. His one liners are amazing :)
Have you listened to any of P. J. Ochlan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first book with PJ but I am now on Vostok and very happy to hear his narration once again. I love the continuity.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole store is great, not much more I can say.
Any additional comments?
I loved the Meg series and really love this one. I hope to listen to more of the great tales. These characters are great and loved the crossover that is happening in Vostok and Meg 5. Steve Alten is a wonderful story teller. Keep up the great work! The education you learn on Scotland is quite amazing as well. At first I was like what is this all about, but as the story went on, I found myself looking forward to those parts quite a bit.
