Story
Catherine "C.C." Calhoun is determined to keep her family's estate, known affectionately as the Towers, in the family. She admits the cost of keeping up the crumbling mansion might be quickly exceeding what C.C., her sisters and her aunt can afford, but the only way to save the house can't be to sell it. Especially not to arrogant and handsome hotel magnate Trenton St. James III.

Parallel storylines unresolved

There's the story of the past which is never fleshed out and the attraction between the modern 'lovers' is either lust or magic or reincarnation and it left me very disappointed,

Story
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Fun and heartfelt moments

What fun I had listening to this wonderful story! The characters' interactions were so well performed and I was caught up in the plot from the start. I couldn't help feeling sympathetic for Gracie who certainly experienced the "When it rains; it pours", but I admired the way she kept facing life as a challenge. I also appreciated the underlying theme of mental health concerns and the need to reach out for help. There were also many places with comic relief and the plot was always moving forward. I highly recommend it!

Awesome narrator

An engaging story with exciting characters and read by the best narrator that I have ever heard! It's hard to believe that one person did all the voices because each was so distinct. An audio book is not just read, but needs to be acted as well and this narrator communicates beautifully each character's motivation.
The author paints the plot with in-depth main characters and many twists and turns. I was so happy to have the whole trilogy.
Well-done!!
