About this listen

A Lasting Legacy

Catherine "C.C." Calhoun is determined to keep her family's estate, known affectionately as the Towers, in the family. She admits the cost of keeping up the crumbling mansion might be quickly exceeding what C.C., her sisters and her aunt can afford, but the only way to save the house can't be to sell it. Especially not to arrogant and handsome hotel magnate Trenton St. James III.

Trent doesn't believe in mixing business with pleasure, especially with a woman who expects - and deserves - true love and marriage. Trent has little faith in either. And yet, C.C.'s passion and purpose begin to change his mind about the Towers... and about love. But can he have one without sacrificing the other?

Łoved it

Some stories have their own rhythm. This one comes in waves. I love the interaction between the characters ; I've listened to this series at least 4 times, already, and will continue to do so. I highly recommend it.

Great storyline

This was another amazing book by Nora Roberts. The only issue was the narrator she did OK with most everyone except for Trent her voice made him sound stupid or slow. It kind of destroyed the story for me.

Unfortunate accent choice, but wonderful story

I love this particular series. The characters are relatable and I love how the story builds through the stories of the Calhoun sisters. What disappoints me the most is the narrator's choice of vice for C.C.'s love interest, Trent. The narrator turned what is supposed to be a strong Boston accent into an accent that is middle between Russian and Italian monster. Trent's voice sounds old and ridiculous, and honestly distracts from the story. The other voices are great.

Too short!

I love Nora Roberts and the Calhoun stories are some of my favorites. I wish Audible had recorded them the same way they were published; by themselves they're too short! Other than that, I loved this book!

Very entertaining

It was a very sweet story. Easy listening. I just had trouble with the narrator male voice, but that is just probably me. Loved it otherwise.

bad narration

I love this story however I almost turned this off the narration and the odd accents were just very irritating and made it hard to enjoy especially the male character Trenton it sounded like he was talking with a mouth full of rocks not very appealing in a love story

Tough to listen too

I love Nora Robert’s books. This was the first audio book I’ve ever listened too & the narration was awful. I’d read the book before and truly enjoyed it, so I was hoping this would be a good thing to get me through a long afternoon... struggled through it all.... such a bummer

Sometimes You Need A Little Romance

A true romance of old. No sex, just the wonder of falling in love. I thought Kate Rudd did a marvelous job with so many different voices, even if she struggled slightly with Trent’s Boston dialect. It takes a very special talent to portray so many different characters. Thank you Nora Roberts for bringing some of your older novels to Audible. You are my favorite author, with an amazing diversity of storytelling that captures the reader.

I liked it!

I needed a good love story. This did the trick. I wish they found the emerald though!

Great book

I loved this book. There was no bad language and that made it good reading.
