Reviewed: 09-03-23
couldn't finish it. there wasn't really any conflict and the narrator was all wrong for jamie. she should be bright and bubbly. in a successful romance, it should be clear what each character sees in the other, and this is just flirting and sex for the sake of flirting and sex. very disappointing.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants, and what he likes. And he gets it. Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves, with white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays - good, normal, and clean.

essentially no conflict and no story
Reviewed: 08-18-23
there was essentially no conflict here. every fight was like okay baby I guess you're right. there was no tension, no underlying reason why they couldn't be together, no pressure from outside forces keeping them apart. which is fine but that what's more pressure on the Love story which needs to be fantastic and it wasn't. it was just like a bunch of badly done sex scenes and gift-giving. this is my least favorite Kristen Ashley novel by far. if I want to listen to a sub dom relationship I'll just listen to fifty shades of Gray for the 9th time instead of this poor knock off.

Not what I expected out of a Colleen Hoover novel
Reviewed: 08-09-23
reading this was just kind of like okay now it's over nope it keeps going now it's over no it keeps going. and if I'm going to get the point of view of a bad guy I want to be able to empathize with him and that just wasn't done well. having the bad guys point of view made me feel unsettled throughout the whole book and not in a good verity kind of way. I do love the ending and some of the subtle details about the book but this is just not what I expect to read from Colleen Hoover.

wow so anti-climactic
Reviewed: 07-28-23
such an anti-climactic ending. first of all, where are all the twists and turns that I expect from Kristen Ashley? there wasn't enough conflict. second, the narration is weird because of the point of view. it makes sense if it's a male narrator and a female narrator both talking first person point of view, or one female starting off first person point of view and then dipping into third person to tell the guy's story, but to start off removed and then to get personal it's just so backward. I liked the emotional part of the story and some of the love story. I wish the crime story had been more interesting and twisty. the narrators themselves were actually fantastic.

the best book by far but still a lot of fluff
Reviewed: 07-18-23
I wish I could give a three and a half, three for the vast majority of the book and four for the ending. the problem with this series is that there is just so much extra fluff. I play games on my tablet while I listen and I can zone out for a minute or two and then tune back into the book and find that I haven't missed anything. I wish these books were cut in half and didn't have all the extra dialogue and processing. more action!

I heard the first two books are slow and then it picks up pace. I hope so. this was painfully boring until the last two hours. the book should be half as long and needs more characters. the narration is great though.

it was so nice to listen to such a long audio book that kept my attention the whole time. I just wish the narrator would have lowered her voice for male voices because in some of the conversations it was hard to tell who was talking. but I still gave her four stars because the female voices were so good.

this really could have used some producing. all of the narration errors were really distracting. there were at least 10 mistakes. also I don't really care to hear the conversations of drug dealers I'd rather this have been from the point of view of FBI agents.
