After nearly winning the eleventh iteration of Rabbits, the mysterious alternate reality game so vast it uses the entire world as its canvas, Emily Connors suddenly finds herself trapped in a dimensional stream where the game does not exist. At all. Except . . . why do sinister figures show up to stop her every time she goes looking? Does Rabbits truly not exist, or is it being hidden? And if it’s being hidden, why—and by whom?

I really wanted to like it
Reviewed: 10-27-23
I loved the first Rabbits book and was so excited for this one but I was left disappointed. It was fine but no where near as good as the first one. I think there were too many unnecessary details and it was a little confusing and then sometimes somethings didn’t feel like they were explained thoroughly enough. And I also didn’t enjoy the ending. I think I may need to reread this one to give it another try since I loved the first one so much but I am definitely disappointed.

Story
For Detective Sam Porter, the words "Father, forgive me" conjure memories long forgotten; a past intentionally buried. For Anson Bishop, these three words connect a childhood to the present as he unleashes a truth concealed for decades. Found written on cardboard near each body, these words link multiple victims to a single killer - discovered within minutes of each other in both Chicago and South Carolina - clearly connected yet separated by impossible miles.

Love Holly the character
Reviewed: 10-04-23
I love Holly the character. I really love Will Patton’s odd narration of her so I missed that a lot in this one but this narrator did a good job with her version of Holly. I would read Holly doing just about anything so I hope King write more books with her in them. This story was good. Not his best but I enjoyed it. Will recommend.

This is my 2nd Joe Hill book. I read NOS4A2 first and that was much better than Heart-Shaped Box. I enjoyed this book but it was just okay. A little bit of a let down overall.

Story
On the day the government decrees that women are no longer allowed more than 100 words daily, Dr. Jean McClellan is in denial. This can't happen here. Not in America. Not to her. This is just the beginning. Soon women are not permitted to hold jobs. Girls are no longer taught to read or write. Females no longer have a voice. Before, the average person spoke 16,000 words a day, but now women only have 100 to make themselves heard. But this is not the end. For herself, her daughter, and every woman silenced, Jean will reclaim her voice.

It could have been so much more
Reviewed: 08-04-23
The background of this book, how they got to where they were in more detail, and more descriptive information about the events leading up to the overthrow would be nice. This book could have been 100 pages longer at least. It ended too quickly, similarly to when you run out of steam on an essay and just end it in 50 words, leaving out details that were needed to enrich it.
Overall it was interesting but it left me wanting so much more.

Worn out after decades of packing steel and raising hell, Viv, the orc barbarian, cashes out of the warrior’s life with one final score. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and an unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen. However, her dreams of a fresh start filling mugs instead of swinging swords are hardly a sure bet. Old frenemies and Thune’s shady underbelly may just upset her plans. Story
When Jackson Bird was 25, he came out as transgender to his friends, family, and anyone in the world with an internet connection. Assigned female at birth and having been raised a girl, he often wondered if he should have been born a boy. Jackson didn’t share this thought with anyone because he didn’t think he could share it with anyone. Growing up in Texas in the 1990s, he had no transgender role models. He barely remembers meeting anyone who was openly gay, let alone being taught that transgender people existed outside of punchlines.

Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

This book is fantastic. It didn’t go where I thought it was going to and took my completely by surprise. Highly recommend!
The only issue I had was in the derogatory way they describe individuals with borderline personality disorder. It plays into the harmful stereotypes that keep people with BPD from getting proper mental health care.
