Story
When our story begins, Julia Child is an eager but inexperienced codebreaker longing to prove herself in the male-dominated world of intelligence, and Josephine Baker is, well, Josephine Baker—a world-famous entertainer who is now leading a double life as a spy for the French Resistance. When a golden opportunity arises to infiltrate a high-stakes Nazi gala in Vichy France, Julia must put aside her by-the-book mentality to assist her unorthodox new partner.

Emotional roller coaster of a ghost story!
Reviewed: 03-29-23
Maybe my age brings some sentimental emotions 🤔 but I ran a gambit with this story, both laughing and crying and never sure where the story was actually leading me. That being said, overall, it is definantly worth the time to listen to. Great performance by both the author producers and voice characters. Bravo to all who brought this forth to make a great performance.

Great book takes me back in time when the movie version scared the bejezus out of people and you hear the Jaws sound dun un dun un getting faster and faster when you were in deep water. lol I had never read the book before the film and was happily surprised by the differences. It was these differences that made it a whole different story than what I expected. performance was spot on too well read.

Austen wrote, 'I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like' and thus introduces the handsome, clever, rich - and flawed, Emma Woodhouse. Emma is perfectly content with her life and sees no need for either love or marriage; nothing however delights her more than matchmaking her fellow residents of Highbury. But when she ignores the warnings of her good friend Mr. Knightley and attempts to arrange a suitable match for her protegee Harriet Smith, her carefully laid plans soon unravel and have consequences that she never expected.

This was a free story for me, part of my subscription with Audible. So I gave it a listen and was greatly surprised. I enjoyed it as I believe it was intended, it's short well contained wonderfully narrated and a spin of short scary stories. It doesn't bog you down in long drawn out details and is wrapped up nicely by the main character at the end. I even laughed in places at the thrown in humor. Thank you Audible that held my attention for a few hours nicely.
