Great story…. Need subtitles

Great story. I wish there was a better resolution but I guess that’s life. Also I needed some subtitles, especially for Louise!

Story
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

I love this series and the prequel series! I’m giving them all a relisten to pick up on missed details before the final book release. Definitely worth the 7+ book ride.

Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, popular podcaster Alix Summer crosses paths with an unassuming woman called Josie Fair. Josie, it turns out, is also celebrating her forty-fifth birthday. They are, in fact, birthday twins. A few days later, Alix and Josie bump into each other again, this time outside Alix’s children’s school. Josie has been listening to Alix’s podcasts and thinks she might be an interesting subject for her series. She is, she tells Alix, on the cusp of great changes in her life.

Truly gripping story! The production was very interesting the way it takes you from narration to documentary/podcast clips. I highly recommend giving this a listen for any true crime podcasts fans

Story
Eighteen-year-old Celaena Sardothien is bold, daring and beautiful - the perfect seductress and the greatest assassin her world has ever known. But though she won the king’s contest and became his champion, Celaena has been granted neither her liberty nor the freedom to follow her heart. Celaena faces a choice that is tearing her to pieces: kill in cold blood for a man she hates or risk sentencing those she loves to death.

Growing expectations met with every chapter
Reviewed: 05-17-22
When I began the first installment of the series I was intrigued by the author but thrown by the readers intonation and seeming lack luster enthusiasm toward the story itself. After finishing this sequel the reader has seemed to grow fervently in the story telling matching the intensity brewing in the story. I’m along for the ride and can’t wait to dive into the next book.
