Story
The Quran, a book that brings glad tidings to mankind along with divine admonition, stresses the importance of man’s discovery of truth on both spiritual and intellectual planes. Every book has its objective, and the objective of the Quran is to make man aware of the creation plan of God. That is, to tell man why God created this world; what the purpose is of settling man on earth; what is required from man in his pre-death life span; and what he is going to confront after death.

Beautiful Narration, MashaAllah

A wonderful translation and soft, but clear, narration. This incredible work of the meaning of the word of Allah is very well done. I am very particular in my translations and narrations and this one exceeds my expectations. This and the Arabic recitation of the Quran stay at the top of my Audible Library. I highly recommend this particular translation for Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

got to the middle of chapter 4 before having to stop. I got through her description of Aisha as being Petty, hateful, and manipulative. Then she describes the companions and especially the first 3 Kalifa as trying to manipulate the Prophet's (pbuh) and trying to prevent anyone else from knowing he tried to chose Ali as the rightful successor. She writes these as though it was undisputed fact when there is tons of evidence to show otherwise.
I don't mind reading other points of view but this book is full of straight lies.

Absolute work of art. A masterpiece of a thoughtful non-muslim female scholar. As a Muslim, I was very impressed. The narration was also clear, and well-done. I cannot say enough good things about this.

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

This superbly told story brings to life one of the most remarkable rulers––and men––in all of history and conveys the drama of his life and world. The Russia of Peter's birth was very different from the Russia his energy, genius, and ruthlessness shaped. Crowned co-Tsar as a child of ten, after witnessing bloody uprisings in the streets of Moscow, he would grow up propelled by an unquenchable curiosity, everywhere looking, asking, tinkering, and learning, fired by Western ideas.

Narrator Ruins an Incredible Book
Reviewed: 05-27-23
An incredible book. Possibly the best history writer I've ever read. The Narration is absolute garbage. The recording is even worse. There are portions where the audio just clicks of half way through a word and then cuts back on awkwardly and then the narrator continues on sounding like a pompous arrogant aristocrat from the 18th century of England. You can almost hear the powder on his whig. it's a shame as this is one of 5he best histories ever written. I wish they would have the narrator from Catherine the Great (same author) read this.

Bill Bryson has been an enormously popular author both for his travel books and for his books on the English language. Now, this beloved comic genius turns his attention to science. Although he doesn't know anything about the subject (at first), he is eager to learn, and takes information that he gets from the world's leading experts and explains it to us in a way that makes it exciting and relevant.

Though the young Warchief Thrall ended the demon curse that had plagued his people for generations, the orcs still wrestle with the sins of their bloody past. As the rampaging Horde, they waged a number of devastating wars against their perennial enemy - the Alliance. Yet the rage and bloodlust that drove the orcs to destroy everything in their path nearly consumed them as well. The story is great. It is put together fantastically. The author should have pride in this work. However, she should have left the reading to someone who was better at it. Seriously, I, both, look forward to and dread her upcoming books in this series.
Her voice is low, creaky, choppy, and too many times it sounded like she was reading it for the first time.... had to keep reminding myself that she wrote it.
