Story
There's no such thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediate yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . . unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake.

Good Narration

I've read all of Abby Jimenez books and loved them - this one not so much. This book has too much "middle". The beginning is intriguing, and the ending is as satisfying as each of her previous novels. The middle of this novel drags and includes elements that don't contribute to the story. The characters lack the depth and backstory that Jimenez's characters typically have.
I listened to the end to learn how they finally get together (because of course, they would), but this was not my favorite title.,

Story
Having worked for Southern Service Paws for a few years now, I like to think I’m prepared for just about any client meeting under the sun. I am dead wrong. The day I meet with single dad Jacob Broaden about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons. 1) Always set my alarm clock. 2) Single dads are way hotter than I previously thought. 3) It is possible to go from fantasizing about kissing someone to wishing they would be run over by a truck in a matter of two minutes.

This sweet Southern romance could have been made better with a male voice for the male characters. Evie’s voice is a bit too sugary for my taste and detracts from the story

A story of life beyond my imagining. Such violence and disregard for life and yet some glimpses of familial love that offer the only bit of hope in this sad story.
Well written with a complex storyline
Most male narrators do a poor job with young girl voices and this is no exception, but overall the narration was good.

I loved the Jillian Dodd "That Boy" series and was happy to see this new entry. The story of the kids is not
as appealing to me as the stories of their parents. I admit I did not finish the book. The story did not grab me
and the narrator's young girl voice was not as much fun and the narrators of her other books.

Story
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits. There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He's pretty much irresistible.

Story
In her mesmerizing fourth work of fiction, Sue Monk Kidd takes an audacious approach to history and brings her acclaimed narrative gifts to imagine the story of a young woman named Ana. Raised in a wealthy family with ties to the ruler of Galilee, she is rebellious and ambitious, with a brilliant mind and a daring spirit. She engages in furtive scholarly pursuits and writes narratives about neglected and silenced women. Ana is expected to marry an older widower, a prospect that horrifies her. An encounter with 18-year-old Jesus changes everything.

Wonderfully written. This book allowed me to consider the life and times of Jesus with a different perspective. The Son of God as a frail human with the longings and questions inherent in humanity. Ana’s strength and determination is inspirational.

Story
Beginning with opium, the “joy plant,” which has been used for 10,000 years, Thomas Hager tells a captivating story of medicine. His subjects include the largely forgotten female pioneer who introduced smallpox inoculation to Britain, the infamous knockout drops, the first antibiotic, which saved countless lives, the first antipsychotic, which helped empty public mental hospitals, Viagra, statins, and the new frontier of monoclonal antibodies. This is a deep, wide-ranging, and wildly entertaining book.

Story
On Winston Churchill’s first day as prime minister, Adolf Hitler invaded Holland and Belgium. Poland and Czechoslovakia had already fallen, and the Dunkirk evacuation was just two weeks away. For the next 12 months, Hitler would wage a relentless bombing campaign, killing 45,000 Britons. It was up to Churchill to hold his country together and persuade President Franklin Roosevelt that Britain was a worthy ally - and willing to fight to the end. In The Splendid and the Vile, Erik Larson shows how Churchill taught the British people "the art of being fearless."

Fascinating

Larson's attention to detail in this book is remarkable. I felt as if I were there with Churchill, his family and his secretaries. The same attention was paid to German officers and war plans. I learned so much about the period of time between Churchill's becoming prime minister and the entry of the US into the war in Europe. I recommend this book to any history buff, and I commend Larson on his skill.
I might also add that the narration was perfect - capturing the mood and spirit of each character.

Each of Mr. Frazier's novels are storytelling at its best - a story to pull me in and keep me anticipating, enough factual history to be enlightening, and his beautifully lyrical use of language which mesmerizes. Varina is a wonderful novel and V is my newest hero.
Molly Parker's narration is just right for this book.
