This is probably my favorite book I have ever read! I was hooked on every word from start to finish! I was on the fence with the whole series until I reread the first two and then read this, now I think it’s my favorite! What an incredibly story!

Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Amazing book and go easy on the narrator!
Reviewed: 10-05-23
Originally the narration was terrible because yes, she was sick and it was painful to listen to BUT it has been re-recorded and is so so much better now!! Give it a chance! Her voice for Tairn makes it for me, it’s so perfect and makes me love him even more especially when he says “should I go get the wing leader?” The way she delivers that line is amazing!!
The book itself is amazing, I can’t get enough of it! I’m on my 3rd listen and have my husband listening with me this time around! I was hooked from the very first scene! Easily one of my favorite books of all time!

Not worth the hype!

I wanted to love this book! A fantasy book placed in a WWII setting sounded so promising but I just couldn’t get into this at all! Unfortunately I was bored and found myself just trying to push through it, I finally gave up with about an hour left. It claims to be fantasy but really there was just some talk of fantasy in a juvenile, boring romance.

Couldn’t Finish!!!!
Reviewed: 08-25-22
I don’t think I have ever not finished a book but I can’t pain myself to listen to this another second. I made it halfway through and couldn’t take anymore boring conversations and the most absolutely cringe sex scenes! I can’t hear the word “bundle” anymore without cringing. This story had so much potential, I really like the first books but this one went completely off the rails. The narration makes it even worse! Do not ever waste your time or money on this!
