Story
When an asthma patient under Laurel Benson’s care dies, the ER nurse quickly realizes it wasn’t of natural causes. Faint bruising around the neck indicates the woman was strangled, right there in the recovery room! Always a champion for her patients, the headstrong nurse is determined to find out who’s to blame and how they got past her watchful eye. The hospital is keeping the cause of death under wraps lest the media gets wind of it, especially when evidence points to it being an inside job. Knowing a killer walks among them is stressful enough, but Laurel’s stress skyrockets when...

Virtual voice is painful to listen to and completely ruins a good story. The technology needs to be refined. But how about just spend a few more dollars and hire a real narrator? I know my platinum plus membership cost could help cover a real narrator.

Story
Laurel Benson is a loyal and dedicated nurse. She may be petite, but she’ll take on anyone who threatens her patients’ safety and well-being. That feisty protectiveness creates problems when a hit and run victim lands in the ER and Police Detective Cade Resnick arrives to investigate. There’s no denying the sparks between these two, but their professions put them at odds. As Cade zeroes in on his suspect, Laurel won’t make it easy for him, not while the suspect is under her care. More than once, these two clash when Cade’s quest for justice collides with Laurel’s concern for her...

Good story but virtual voice?

Why ruin a perfectly good story with virtual voice? Virtual voice was painful to listen to with strange voice inflection, mispronounced words, and robotic delivery. I’m surprised SAG-AFTRA aren’t picketing outside Audible headquarters over the use of Virtual Voice.

But she could work here. One fateful summer she did, and married the boss’s son. Now, she’s the widowed owner of the hotel, determined to see it return to its glory days, even as staff shortages and financial troubles threaten to ruin it. Story
In Bonnet, Texas, Liddy Latham, the queen of funeral dinners, keeps a Southern comfort-food tradition alive - until fancy-schmancy Matilda Monroe moves back to town. She wants room at the table for her own style of consolation and closure: healthy, modern, and vegan. But this is about more than fried chicken versus tofu turkey. Matilda’s return is also stirring up their volatile, unresolved history. And just when they thought it couldn’t get more personal.
