Story
Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease.

Really insightful… a bit repetitive though

This was a really good book but I think it could have been shorter because it started to get repetitive towards the end.

Story
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

I’m not sure what all the hype about this book is… it’s merely okay You won’t lose anything by reading it but I don’t think there’s a massive amount to be gained either.

Story
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our life, health and longevity and yet it is increasingly neglected in 21st century society, with devastating consequences: every major disease in the developed world - Alzheimer's, cancer, obesity, diabetes - has very strong causal links to deficient sleep. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why its absence is so damaging to our health. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

This book is really bland, the story is very middle of the road.
Nothing exciting happens really, it’s just a bit boring.
Maybe I’m not the intended audience, but this book is just….uninteresting.

Story
So I'm throwing myself a breakup party, a glittery fete where I envision I'll lift a glass and celebrate being free and single again. What I actually do: drink too much champagne and blurt out to my best guy friend that I'd really like to get back on the horse. But what I truly don't expect is Carter's answer—he volunteers as tribute.

Meh. Very basic
Reviewed: 07-19-23
So I knew this book was going to be a bust for me from the first 4 chapters but not wanting to judge too soon I pushed through.
This book is quite basic in its story line, the narrators are quite hammy and overall is just meh.
The sex scenes are boring in my opinion and go for all the stereotypical tropes.
The book is not bad, it’s just remarkably average.
This book is the equivalent of having a home Reno show on the tv in the background whilst you tidy the house.

Story
Dr Briana Ortiz's life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalised, her brother's running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants...? Oh, that's probably going to the new man-doctor who's already registering eighty-friggin'-seven on Briana's 'pain in my ass' scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr Jacob Maddox completely flips the game...by sending Briana a letter. It's a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn't actually Satan.

Story
After a wild bet, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who's 10 years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable. While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn't need glory or fame. She's fine with being a 'mere' ER doctor.

Story
Kitty Harris has it all: cosily coupled up with boyfriend Archie, she’s putting in the hours at an ad agency to land her dream job. OK, so maybe they’ve become a bit too comfortable in their routine, with pizza night every Thursday, and maybe the agency isn’t so much up-and-coming as been-and-gone, but Kitty is happy. Until one diamond ring sitting pretty in her pepperoni ruins everything. Kitty does NOT want to get married, not after being caught in the crosshairs of her parent’s destructive divorce.

Okay.. I am only at the start of this book and so far it is weak. I am one for motivational books and higher thinking but this actually seems like nonsensical garbage.
I will keep pushing but so far I am not impressed and if you’re someone with sense and sensibilities I wouldn’t recommend you wasting your money or credits on it.
