Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

This book has just jumped up there to my top 5 fave of all time maybe even in my top 3. That was such a cool twist and turn ride and the spice was HOT. When you thought you just got through the major plot twist BAM another one! What a great book.
Performance was great I loved that they utilized the male voice for all male speaking parts and female voice for all female speaking parts it really helps and makes the audio so much better.

Narrator was good. Story was fun. Someone said Memnon is like a Damon Salvatore and it helped me get a good idea of him. I feel like this is a story better read from the pages versus listened to which I might go back and do. Overall enjoyed and will go to the next book! Lots of good reviews for it on socials.

Hush, little baby, don't say a word . . . Will Logan choose them? Or will we watch them burn together? It's time to f--k with their minds. It's time to finish it all. It's time to paint it all red . . . Monsters don't usually wish for happily-ever-afters.

Good story lots of twists + romance - but crap narrators
Reviewed: 03-05-25
Really got sucked into this series the book with all the gruesome graphic details of the wrong done to the FMC was intense but the story had so many twists and you really root for FMC to get her revenge + romance & a little bit of spice. Enjoyed the series overall.
The negative being the narrators. The female’s “male” voices were so bad and it was hard to get past the lack of proper inflections and tones to relay the right emotions, it took some effort to focus on the words and context to infer the emotions in the situation.

Story
To understand the monsters in the world, you have to get inside their heads. It's a dangerous place to be, especially when you start to empathize and lose your own sense of morality. But that's never happened to me . . . I've never felt conflicted on any case. Right is right and wrong is wrong. It's simple. Black and white. There's no such thing as a gray area. But f--k this case. I don't even know what side I'm on anymore. I don't understand how this town can continue to function without breaking under the weight of all the lies they've spun and lived.

This story is intense but the narration is BAD
Reviewed: 03-04-25
I was reading this series on kindle but would switch to audiobook when I needed my hands free … the story is intense - the backstory of the FMC is gruesome and if you are sensitive to rape and torture and mutilation you should NOT get into this book or series, as the story goes on her story details come to light and they are awful… With that said this story has me hooked. Lots of plot twists and a good romance factor. The revenge killing feels better when you hear what they did to her and her brother. But the towns involvement - twist!
Narrators are no good. The female is so bad. She uses terrible inflections that don’t match the mood or context and all her “male” voices sound so weird - always without the right inflections/emotions. Requires paying attention to words and context and not her narration. The mans isn’t much better either. It’s like both of them lack the ability to portray the appropriate mood/emotion.

I didn't expect him. I didn't want to fall in love. But I can't let him go. Logan Bennett makes the world a safer place. He's brilliant. He's a hero. He locks away the sick and depraved. But while he's saving lives, I'm taking them. Collecting the debts that are owed to me. Ten years ago, they took from me. They left me for dead. They should have made sure I stayed dead. Now I'm taking from them. One name at a time.

Story
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

Didn’t love the narrator - story wasn’t as good as the 1st 2
Reviewed: 02-20-25
I liked the first 2 books but this one lost me. I basically powered thru to find out what would happen. We definitely got left with a cliffhanger but the journey to get there in this book was meh. Spoiled by graphic audio - I could not tell what character was suppose to be talking & there was no differentiation when it was mind speaking etc. I had to read the physical book a lot of the time to understand what was going on. Sometimes I would just read the book and then come back to audiobook after a break from the narrator. The first books got me hooked to find out what happens next but I felt like I was forcing myself to listen/ read this book.
