My heart hurts.

This entry in the series is the most emotional and maybe the best imo. They tore my heart out and gingerly put it back a dozen times only to leave me wanting more. 7 out of 5 stars.

Story
Ilea likes punching things. And eating. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many career options for hungry brawlers. Instead, the plan is to quit her crappy fast-food job, go to college, and become a fully functioning member of society. Essentially—a fate worse than death.

Great Story and Likeable Characters

Honestly an entertaining ride from start to finish with great pacing and story telling. The worst part of the book is that it ends.

Weird amount of political rhetoric
Reviewed: 05-03-22
The first book had 2 chapters about one of the main girls having their period. I thought it was odd initially for a book about fantasy, but figured hey that would be a legitimate issue. But then it just keeps going on about it to the point its flat out weird.
In the second book they touch on the 2016 election multiple times and make sure to come down on trump which is odd but I guess it's the style, until they make sure to pointedly have both main female characters hold him in disdain. Again this is a high fantasy book about goblins and ant people so this was just weird as well.
Outside of these weird moments that the writer seems to have zoomed in on the books are great so far, the first one starts a little slow but once it gets going its stellar. The voice acting is absolutely amazing and the character interaction and twists are made with awesome details.
I'll update this review to the next book when I finish it as well. Good reading.
TLDR Wierd political moments and feminine hygiene issues, Otherwise its a great listen/read.
9.5/10 Would listen again.
