Story
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: Become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway.

It's nearly identical story to Vampire Academy

What disappointed you about Half-Blood?
For those that read Vampire Academy (Rachelle Mead) - does this sound familiar.
There are a group of Pure Bloods who are immortal and can will the elements, Fire,Water & Air. This group is holds all the power with a Council and various positions
The Half Bloods are people have a parent of Pure Blood and another mortal, who have all the strength and healing ability of the Pure Blood but don't live forever and train to be Guardians for the Pure Bloods
A Half Blood, who was the head of her class in fighting but was a little trouble maker too with her snark attitude, runs away (for good reasons) and then returns a couple years later and is allowed back but is behind in here training. SOOO the best guardian and of coarse best looking offers to taker responsibility for her and trainer her independently so she can catch up and .... they fall in love.. but the love forbidden for many reason.
If you said you were reading Vampire Academy you would be wrong... well right too, but this recap was the Convent. Other than they are not vampires they are children of the 'gods' Zeus, ya know like Percy Jackson series.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Unsure
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
stop dragging the words out. There was unnatural sounds to extending words to try to make them more 'sultry' was over used an annoying. Hard to type, but say the sentence was "he walked closer" it would sound more like, "He walkkeed CLOseer" with a tongue lick and a wink.... Talk normal, we have our own imagination, and the narrator didn't add but took away in those instances.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Half-Blood?
Write an original story... The girl in a academy falling in love with a teacher and the pure blood halfblood thing has been done. Even Rachelle Mead moved on.
Any additional comments?
If you're looking for originality this is not the book for you. (not sure how there isn't a lawsuit on this from Rachelle Mead)

Story
Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e., murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Love the story - wrong performer/narrator
Reviewed: 03-10-16
Would you try another book from the author and/or the narrator?
Yes, i'd try another book. In fact after listening to the story I quickly switched to read. The narrator does a fine job, she simply didn't fit the character.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Garrett - because he's real
How could the performance have been better?
Find a narrator that fit the roll. Charley (the lead character and voice of the story) is a 28 year old, biker boot wearing and jeans wearing character. BUT the performer sounds like shes between 45-55 years old, not only voice but the way she reads the story - it just didn't fit. I could also say the same about the book cover, since they have her in retiree lady sandles.... nothing like what the character would ever wear.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
unsure
Any additional comments?
Over all i like the story, they've caught my interest that I'm currently on book 4 (reading/not listening)

Story
Peree knows what he’s doing as the new Keeper of the Water Bearer, Fennel. He knows Fennel’s Sightless. He knows that means the Scourge can’t hurt her when she gathers fresh water for her people. He knows how to wield his bow and arrow to kill piles of the revolting flesh-eaters as they swarm around her. He’ll motivate her, distract her, do anything he can to keep her working. And most important, he'll make sure his people get every drop of their share of the water she collects.

Not a 3rd book -it's Peree's view from the Scourge
Reviewed: 05-02-14
What did you like best about The Keeper? What did you like least?
The narorration was flat, and the voice sounded like a poor recording of a middle age man
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
nothing new
How could the performance have been better?
used a voice of someone who sounded teen/early 20s and had a little passion/energy in his reading.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
maybe... not this version but the scourge and defiance yes
Any additional comments?
It's not bad, and an easy read. But this is not a 3rd book, it's Peree's view and narration of the Scourge.
not keen on the audible version... the voice of the narrator sounds like he's middle age, not a good representation of a teenage boy.
