Pretty good story

This book was far better than the last one. I forgot how terrible the narrator was, however. I don't get these male narrator who feel the need to do a different voice for each female character. One sounded like eeyore. it was painful to listen to. And Joe Pike's voice is ridiculous. Not sure I would recommend this.

Full of suspense and twists and turns. Some of the voices were a little irritating, but the story is so compelling it's easy to overlook.

If it had been my first in the series, I would have returned this purchase due to the poor narration. It's tough to stick with because of it. However, I enjoy the author and the series enough to listen to the entire book. I will avoid this narrator in the future though.

Three-and-a-half years later, in the dead of winter, the children are returned to their families...one by one. All except for Ivy - the granddaughter of Homicide Detective Kate Wakeland. The other four children say Ivy is dead.

The story is definitely compelling and I will read this book, not listen to it. yes, Imogen Church is a wonderful narrator... when she sticks to her regular voice and accent. The voice of Cora, as well as the voices of the male characters, is so jarring, I can't take it anymore. too bad.
