Story
Ellen and Andy's first year of marriage doesn't just seem perfect, it is perfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she's living is the one she's meant to live.

Not my type of book
Reviewed: 03-27-25
I guess I should have previewed it. I do not like cheating books. I hated the lead character from the minute she started lying to her husband and continued while she whined and complained like a selfish brat! I couldnt listen to the whole book, I only listened as far as I did, hoping she would stop being a terrible person! I gave up on Chapter 22!

This was a great book, I highly recommend you listen or read it!!
NOTE: I wish this didn't stick out to me, but this is a STEPHEN KING novel, How did these mistakes slip by everyone and end up in print in his book?? He says he put Elizabeth's hair in a horsetail... not really possible with ONE hand, in the same paragraph he says, he "put his palms on the sides of Elizabeth's head."

Reviewed: 11-15-24
This book was slow, very drawn out, frustrating, I am sure its meant to be "mysterious", but it just makes it kind of maddening and if I would have had to hear the stupid "chant" one more time, I would have screamed! I really wouldnt recommend reading or listening to this book.

And then there’s the devil herself: Jane’s senior resident Dr. Alyssa Morgan. What a depressing book!
Reviewed: 10-31-24
I never purposely listen to negative and depressing books, Could Jo's life be any more of a downer? I wouldnt have listened past the first 5 chapters, if I wouldnt have spent my last credit on it! How demeaning to mothers and women who are stay at home moms. I was a working Mom of 3 kids, but if I had the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and wife this book would have made me feel like a complete failure who "gave up my life" to be a wife and Mom.
