Historia
In the early 1900s, women were dying in large numbers from treatable diseases because they avoided receiving medical care. Examinations performed by male doctors were often demeaning and even painful. In addition, women faced stigma from illness—a diagnosis could greatly limit their ability to find husbands, jobs or be received in polite society. Motivated by personal loss and frustration over inadequate medical care, Elizabeth Blackwell, Lizzie Garret Anderson and Sophie Jex-Blake fought for a woman's place in the male-dominated medical field.

Hit a bit deeper because my daughter is finishing her residency. It's incredibly inspiring and fascinating to know what the women who came before her had to endure and rise above to become medical doctors.

It was okay...
Revisado: 01-27-24
Maybe this just isn't my type of book, but I found much of downright silly and unbelievable. Really just needed the beginning and ending. The middle was painfully drawn out. The way the narrator was breathless almost every time Macy spoke with Elliott was a bit annoying. I got to the point I dreaded every time she spoke to him.

Mixed feelings
Revisado: 03-19-23
Way too much gratuitous profanity and sexual content. Just wasn't necessary and for me, detracted from a really intriguing story. I was a bit disappointed in the ending. Seemed rushed and unrealistic.

Enjoyed it except for one thing..
Revisado: 08-24-21
I need someone to explain why the main character (who Is British) spoke with an American accent while everyone else, including his family, spoke with a British accent. It was super confusing, especially at the beginning.

Sketchy and disappointing
Revisado: 06-24-21
Saved this book for a year to read at the beach. I absolutely hated the story line. Kept hoping it would improve. Two selfish adults who snuck around and lied to their loved ones for years, even though they could have just been honest to each other in the beginning and lived a beautiful life together. Worst kind of people.

Really not good
Revisado: 04-03-21
I truly LOL'd throughout the book. It was absurd, just downright silly. The sisters had some serious issues with men and relationships. Who laughs and goes on dates with new people when her sister is missing? They were both so unlikeable. And the graduate class "book" supposedly to be published was nothing short of soft porn with absolutely no plot other than a woman cheating on her boyfriend with two other men, one of which married. Sorry, no college would submit that for publication. The main character speaking of her stage persona in 3rd person was downright annoying. Not sure if it was just me, but the reader sounded like Siri or some kind of engineered voice when speaking as a different character. I finished it because I hate quitting on a book, but it took some perseverance to do so. If you're wanting a light read with gratuitous sexual content, then it might be for you. Just not my can of worms.

Every morning, A wakes in a different person’s body, a different person’s life. There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply....

Seriously disappointed
Revisado: 09-17-19
Love a good dog story, but I found myself getting annoyed by the main character Denny Who lets his ill wife and daughter live away from him for weeks at a time? Wasn’t much of a love story either. The best part was definitely the dog. I can honestly say in this case, the movie was much much better than the book.

Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.
