As details emerge from the girls' time in captivity, more questions are raised about the involvement of several possible suspects. For years, secrets have been kept by the residents of Grady Lake to protect the monsters who lived among them. As the death toll continues to climb, we are left to wonder: do secrets die with those who keep them?

After leaving home years ago, Katie is overjoyed to reunite with her childhood best friend and cousin while working at her family's lakeside resort at the end of tourist season in northern Michigan. Just when life begins to feel normal again, a teenage girl goes missing from the resort. She has vanished without a trace, just like Malorie.

Another thrilling book by JL Hyde! Grady Lake had me on the edge of my seat. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys thrillers/suspense.
The narration was difficult for me to understand at first, but it got easier as I got used to the narrator.

Story
Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are—seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car—it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

I continue to love this series! And the narrator is excellent! My only advice is if it’s been a while since you read/listened to the previous one, it might not be a bad idea to look back at the characters. I was getting mixed up about some of them lol. No worries though, this book is still great!

Story
Finlay Donovan has been in messes before—after all, she's an author and single mom who's a pro at getting out bloodstains for rather unexpected reasons—but none quite like this. After she and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero accidentally destroyed a luxury car that they may have "borrowed" in the process of saving the life of Finlay's ex-husband, the Russian mob got her out of debt. But now Finlay owes them.

Story
In 1942, the Allies were losing, Germany seemed unstoppable, and every able man in England was on the front lines. To "set Europe ablaze," in the words of Winston Churchill, the Special Operations Executive (SOE), whose spies were trained in everything from demolition to sharpshooting, was forced to do something unprecedented: recruit women. Thirty-nine answered the call, leaving their lives and families to become saboteurs in France.

Fascinating story
Reviewed: 11-14-20
This story fascinating. The women who served in the resistance against the Nazis in France had tough jobs and this gives a slight peek into their stories. However, if I had to rate it overall I would give the book a 3.5 rather than a 4. I want to give it a 4, or even 5, but it jumps around SO much and can be very difficult to follow along at times. I also feel that if the author would have focused more on the stories of the three MAIN characters, she could have gone into more detail about them and their work. There were just too many side characters and it felt confusing at times. I would say it is worth reading if you know ahead of time what to expect.
