This! This is why Peretti is a master! The story was great, enthralling, surprising, and when it boiled down to fight & flight, they prayed to God for help! This is real life… in a way. ;)

Never a bad Beck tale!

I’ve never been a fan of short stories. I feel the build up of a world shouldn’t be blown away with the shift of the wind. Novels have always been my way, but Beck is my favorite author. His tales build worlds that make you cringe and run- from the book! These shorts did the same thing. A few made you smile, others created surprise and shock. All of them amazing and well worth the listen, read and physical book.

Where are the recipes?

I have purchased many self-help audiobooks. Each time I purchased one that was going to help me concerning eating habits, there was always a list of recipes. If the recipes were not audibly, giving in the audiobook, then they were supplied by going to a website or a link. This book offers neither. I actually had to go and purchase the physical book. Kind of defeated the purpose.

enjoyed this book for many of his stories. The two that stuck out the most for me was one that actually took the time to explain the Synth Wars. Someone actually gave a background on why the androids, or artificial humans rebelled. No one has ever done that and I had always wondered why, after seeing.Alien Resurrection. So that was a big plus for me. The second was the return to Scott Sigler‘s planet where Ahalia was General. It was nice for them to finally come across the predators and be included. That was mint!

Out of the majority of the alien franchise that I’ve read, I think this was one of the best.

Strange how even in space you have the deranged, power seeking lunatics. I like the story because it was different, but it took a long time to really get where it was interesting. I knew it required a lot of backstory, but I was just really wanting more action. It was still a pretty good story.

This is a generational tale. When I think of Vasquez, I do not think of anything concerning her children. Her portion of this novel was about 2-hrs long… major bummer!shoulda been a short story. And don’t even get me started on that automaton narrator. She ruined it.

I never knew this take existed. It was great, different and actually gave POV of the xenomorph. That was pretty cool.

I left a full review on Goodreads, but I was pleasantly surprised. It didn’t give me the pandemonium I’d expected, with gore and a load of F-bombs, but good.

The narrator was great, I liked the characters (all of them), and the story closed with a sweet ending.

I wanted to love this tale, especially with the connection of such an adorable voice. Bella made you want to wrap her in my arms and protect her, but her happy-go lucky Dad-O and selfish mummy were so annoying and inept, I wanted them to simply vanish!

Also, Bella shouldn’t have been the narrator, but just a voice. She seemed to know too much- for her age? I don’t know, because sometimes I felt she was much older than she was supposed to be. Did they ever say how old she was?

The monster/demon/entity was kinda cool. Just wish there’d been more. We never got a true description, what she or it was.

I love live audiobooks. The story has been wonderful from beginning to end. Although sometimes I get confused by their time flashes whether back or not, it still holds the meat of the tail and you know exactly where you’re going from that tidbit that’s been shared. I hope there’s another chapter coming.
