GREAT Story, DISAPPOINTING Male Narration

Great Storyline
Reviewed: 02-11-25
I finally finished this audiobook and I did enjoy the story. For the MMC to have vitiligo along with his daughter added a layer to this. Add in the other drama filled plots and it was a nice journey.
As far as the narration: I wasn’t a fan of the narrators. The male sounded choppy and the female sounded robotic at times. Her EJ voice stressed me out.
That didn’t take away from the story for me. I would recommend the story to others as it was really good.

This. Was. Soooo. Good. The storyline was awesome. I enjoyed this. Diesel was so dominate and a true Alpha male. He stood in excellent and control. Loved him and his caring he truly was once he allows his emotions to display.
Greysen is my girl. I loved how soft she was but learned how to walk in her confidence. She learned to stand up for herself.
The narrators- Winston James and Trei Taylor. Hands down did their big ones with this performance. I loved them narrating and loved how they brought this to life and I do NOT like kink. But this story was sooo good.

Story
Josiah Joseph is trouble - at least that’s what everyone says about him. Jade Taylor can’t help but to agree with their sentiments. He’s a hotheaded football player and one of her most lackluster students. She’s a young mother and a laser-focused teacher’s assistant, counting the days until graduation.

All I wanted was to hear this story come a live and I got my wish. Both narrators really embodied Harlow and Acyn. I fell in love with the story all over again.
I’m thankful to have listened to this as I heard about some details that I apparently missed when I read it the first time. My only complaint- book 2 readily available.
I LOVED this so much!!!! Great job!!!

Story
He's hard, cold, and stubborn as a bull. He has no right to want to be with her. She's everything he's not. Warm, patient, and attentive. Yet, the two of them find themselves badly wanting each other. Neither of them has ever had the guts to tell each other how they truly feel. Will they get it together, or will she find comfort in the arms of someone else who's brave enough to steal her heart?

Jasiel is…

What I liked about this was to actually hear the story come alive. I enjoyed the story when I read it via kindle but listening to it gives it another vibe. The story was short but I felt that I got all I needed from it. Too bad for Kieran being used. He was flaunting his money around in my opinion.
The narration was ok. The female narrator did well with her parts and some of the male parts too. Ten male narrator only sounded genuine in the Jasiel part. Voicing his brothers and Genesis and his mom didn’t come off as well.
Overall I enjoyed this one. From I Got You I figured Jasiel’s character would be written differently but this was still a great story for him.

Story
At twenty-one, Ason ‘Ace’ Williams Jr. knows all about inevitable endings. He’s formerly famous, a popular rapper’s muse, the son of a three-time NBA champ, and a little… complicated. After a disturbing scandal and loss rocks his world, he’s left to deal with both in a city that doesn’t quite feel like home. It’s a place filled with old family friends he’s never met, reminders of all the endings he’s had to endure, and even worse—he’s stuck there after his dad takes a job no one ever imagined him taking.

Planet Ace is the best place
Reviewed: 12-22-23
This is my first story that I’ve read by Rae Lyse and I am sold on her story telling. The way that she crafted this story, I can’t form the words to how beautifully written this story was. There were so many layers to the characters. This story was a slow burn. Sometimes I have a love hate with those because if you take too long I lose interest. Never happened with this one. The development with these characters had me so engrossed in this story. I had all the emotional attachments with Ace and Lourdes.
Ace was my guy. He was so painfully scarred with a pure heart. I can’t get over the way that he looked out for and cared for Lourdes and her innocence. He understood that she had to learn those lessons of growing up and he let her but not being too far away. The way that he cared for her mom and helped her with Mama CC because of experience just melted my heart. Ace had the world on his shoulders while he drowned his pain. My guy was grieving and self sabotaging himself to numb the pain. My heart was breaking for him. But I was so glad that he developed the relationship with Lourdes.
Lourdes was definitely inexperienced in a lot of ways. She meant well and did what she needed to do to care for those around her. She was trying to be a caregiver although she barely knew how to do most things but she did them. She tried to live her young teenage Iife but with some adult situations going on it was hard to do that. I loved how she ended up loving Ace and how she supported him even if she wasn’t aware of all the things that he consisted of. But I can say that he told her how messed up he was. He didn’t lie to her. His sole purpose was to protect her no matter what.
I fell in love all over again once Lourdes found out how she got her name. It was destiny for these two. I can go on and on with talking about Ace because there were so many levels to him. He was boarder line controlling but even in that I could understand why. Cree- I can’t say that I really liked her or didn’t like her. She was in a tough spot is all I can say. I didn’t like Bryson because you were doing entirely too much and was a hater for real.
Plane Ace was the place to be. No stress. Nothing but love. One can be themselves without judgement. Planet Ace was home. Home is where the heart is!
In case you didn’t know, I freaking loved this story. I hadn’t been this enamored with a story in a long time and I am glad to have read this.
The audio performance was top tier because Wesleigh and Jakobi ALWAYS do well together.
