Excellent narration of the battles fought by the Damed Legion of the French Foreign Legion. One wonders if the West, after WW2 is really ready to win another war.

Engaging honest account.

I hope that Jack continues his work as a journalist and writer. His honesty and willingness to talk about deep problems that affect the military and country are very much needed. I also went through this book in a day, is hard to stop listening once you started.

Story
In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the next Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup “unicorn” promised to revolutionize the medical industry with its breakthrough device, which performed the whole range of laboratory tests from a single drop of blood. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at more than $9 billion, putting Holmes’s worth at an estimated $4.5 billion.

Reads like a horror story, but is al real.

The book reads like a horror story but is all really. Applaud the courage of the whistle blowers, former employees, and reporters that had to go through a systematic intimidation ordeal.
A must read to anyone working in The Valley.

Story
In 2003, the Special Forces soldiers entered an area later called "the most dangerous place in Afghanistan". Here, where the line between civilians and armed zealots was indistinct, they illustrated the Afghan proverb "I destroy my enemy by making him my friend." Fry recounts how they were seen as welcome guests rather than invaders. Soon after their deployment ended, the Pech Valley reverted to turmoil. Their success was never replicated.

Outstanding work and clear view of the role of the GB.

This book is to only outstandingly written and narrated but it is also a honest and clear view of what the role of the Green Berets should be.
I just wish there were more people like Capitan Ronald Fry involved on the decisions that pave the future of this great country.

Story
In Legend, acclaimed best-selling author Eric Blehm takes as his canvas the Vietnam War as seen through a single mission that occurred on May 2, 1968. A 12-man Special Forces team had been covertly inserted into a small clearing in the jungles of neutral Cambodia - where US forces were forbidden to operate. Their objective, just miles over the Vietnam border, was to collect evidence that proved the North Vietnamese Army was using the Cambodian sanctuary as a major conduit for supplying troops and materiel to the south via the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Truly inspiring! Eric Blehm reinvigorates the history of another hero of the US Armed Forces. He shares with us not only the prowess of the soldier but his life struggle as a kid and young man as well as his ethos and core values. In addition Fred Sanders does a fantastic job telling this story.
In a time where young people embraces pop culture icons we have here a true example of life. Tango Mike Mike.
