The plot is beyond stupid
Reviewed: 02-17-25
I listen to these stories as a distraction so put up weak plot or silly dialogue but had to turn this one off. The story line is an advertisement for frivolous stupidity. The narrator was good.

The quotes that started each chapter were fun. This falls into the mystery / romance category. I will listen to the next in the series.

Romance Murder Mystery
Reviewed: 05-10-22
This is mostly a coming of age romance with a murder mystery taking over the plot line the last few chapters. Overall a pleasant story but I didn’t become attached to the characters perhaps it would suit a younger listener.

Story
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

This book is a mystery but not a who done it. It is also a reminder that we are all connected thru someone. Things unfold slowly with lots of description and classical references.
