meh its ok. good message overall, but obvious. I couldn't stand the constant chest pumping the author does. not encouraging for someone thats not an Alpha type. I can see this speaking to the natural salesman types or super competitive athletes.

Insightful and rare peek into the politics of F1
Reviewed: 12-03-18
The format the authors chose to write this book makes it a bit awkward to follow and it's laced with some academic approach to how Ross Brawn's leadership style helped him be so successful which sometimes was boring and other times interesting. Very different from Adrian Newey's book but still enjoyable.

Story
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.

Great story

I wasn't sure about this one when I started listening but since it was recommended to me by an artist I admire I gave it a shot. Scalzi is a great story teller and catches you immediately from chapter 1 onwards. his vision of a universe so distant from this one is easily imagined through his words and he story takes you through very human emotions and situations although the story is far removed from earth. I'm ready to listen to the second book

A perfect primer for the unfamiliar with the Cosmos and all its complexity, wrapped and packaged in familiar terms, analogies and stories that ease our
understanding of the universe. It's funny in Mr. Tysons style and really easy to listen in his own voice and words.
