This book picks up where book 1 left off. Willow takes Arianna and runs after her husband tracks her down in Briar Valley. She is determined to protect Ari and decides to leave her men behind. She struggles with living in hiding and is eventually forced to go back to Briar Valley after tragedy strikes the town. Dealing with the loss, and struggling to get through to the guys who love that she is back but mad because she left. Willow tries to pick up the pieces of her life and is approached with the opportunity to testify against her husband. She starts to tell her story.
I really loved this book. You can tell how far Willow has come. She was a broken woman, and with the help and determination of her mountain men and the town she turns into a woman that is determined to do the right thing and heal from her past. The relationship between her and the guys was a little struggle especially from the twins since they took to her leaving the hardest. I loved that they were still determined to help her heal regardless.

Story
After breaking free from the gilded cage of my abusive marriage, I have nothing to my name but a letter from a long-lost relative. Come home, Willow. Your family is waiting for you. I sacrificed everything to flee for the tiny town of Briar Valley and its promise of a better life for my young daughter. Hope often takes the unlikeliest of forms, but I didn't expect to find it nestled among the rugged, snow-capped mountains. Nor did I intend to surrender my heart to three tortured mountain men hiding from their own grief in the thick forest of pine trees.

Willow, Killian, Zach, and Micah. Willow has been on her own since she was young. Her mother left her with her alcoholic father. When he died when she was 16, she got a job as a stripper. Her manager at the club sold her to a man called Mr. Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez forces her to marry him and other the course of 10 years she is forced to endure terrible things at the hands of her husband. When she gets an opportunity to escape she takes it, and goes to Briar Valley. When her father died, she received a letter from her grandmother who invited her to go there for a visit so when she escapes from her husband she ends up there with her daughter. In Briar Valley, she learns to trust again through the determination of Killian, Zach, and Micah.
I loved every min of listening/reading this book. All the characters, especially the daughter, were so good. I loved how all the guys, especially Killian, folded for Arianna so quickly. The relationship between Willow and the guys was a slow burn, but they helped her heal slowly after all she endured. Willow gets her own found family in Briar Valley. This book was definitely dark and there is some triggers in the beginning especially so read the list.

This book has no reason being this good. I started this with some friends for a book club and we all agreed this book was unnecessarily good. I really enjoyed this book. I did the audiobook/kindle of the book and the narrator was really good especially given the context of the book I would have been able to keep a straight face if I was the one narrating this book that’s for sure. The was a somewhat slow burn between the main characters. Also when it is finally explained about th good little cows…. If you know you know… was top tier. I loved this book seriously. This book has no dang reason for being this GOOD (Just had to say it again).

Sophia and Will. Sophia is the daughter of famous footballers. (Soccer for us Heathen Americans). She has always hated the sport due to everyone expecting her to be a pro at soccer like everyone else in her family. She went out of the mold and is caving her way to be someone other than her famous family. People have always used her to get access to her famous parents and brother. Will was forced off a team in Boston and he received a contract to play in Germany. He meets Sophia when he finds her sitting in his seat at the football stadium to watch a scrimmage before he starts playing with the team. There is an instant connection between them .
I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and a joy to read/listen too. The narrators were phenomenal in this audiobook. I really enjoyed the way they brought the story to life. The spice in this one was also good. I really enjoyed this book. I have been mainly reading hockey romances so this was a change of pace but I have no regrets.

I was too busy giving Renzo hell to notice we weren’t alone. That was my bad. But seriously, the domineering asshole was asking for it. What followed felt like a drug-induced hallucination— Captured at gunpoint, drugged, then taken hundreds of miles from home. Who could have imagined our escape would only make things worse? Stranded in an arctic wilderness, I’ve had no choice but to rely on him for survival. His body’s warmth and well-honed strength. His instincts and persistence.

Their first interaction Shae is trying to get some weapons that Renzo was storming for them. Renzo instantly becomes obsessed with her and is determined to make her his. Their next interaction ends up with them kidnapped and forced onto a plane. Then said plane crashes into the Canadian wilderness. As you can imagine, tensions between them rack up until they explode.
I haven’t read the Byrne Brothers series, but now I’m going to. I really enjoyed this audiobook. It was really good and the narrators did an amazing job bringing this book to life. Aiden and Kelsey were fantastic in this. The book had me feeling like I was there living through this as well. Both characters had to really embrace their baser instincts to survive together in the wild.

Renzo Marchesi gives me two choices when he walks into my art gallery: help him find his brother's killer or suffer the consequences. He's a mafia prince.... Heir to the Marchesi throne. A man consumed by his demons. Beautiful. Ruthless. I don't belong in his world, and he doesn't belong in mine. Still, I'm not the spoiled politician's daughter he thinks I am.... This is the City of Thieves, where lies are hard currency and deception is the real art. Trust no one. Love no one. Too bad I don't follow my own rules....

Renzo and Tatiana. Tatiana has developed into an icey callous woman due to some trauma from her present and past. Renzo recently lost his brother, and is determined to track down his killers. This leads him to Tatiana, he has an instant attraction too but he needs to use her to track down some paintings that let to the death of his brother. Left fighting their attraction for each other while also working to find out the meaning of the paintings.
I really enjoyed this book. It was intriguing to say the least. Both characters went through traumatic events that lead them to where they are now. The audiobook for this was also really good. Both narrators did a reallly good job narrating this book. Viviene and Alan are fairly new narrators to me and I will definitely be looking forward to future books narrated by them.

Our lands are fractured. They have been split into three since before my birth, but they were not always this way. Once, we prospered, magic filling our lands before it was locked away with them: the monsters. Now we suffer and starve even as our king grows stronger and richer. Then my sister is called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice. Unable to lose the one person I love, I take her place willingly, protecting her the only way I can.

Cora has had a difficult life growing up. She lives in a society where the only use for a woman is in the kitchen and bedroom. They aren’t allowed to learn things. Every year one woman is selected for ‘The Hunt’ where you go into the shadow lands never to be seen or heard from again. This year Cora’s sister is chosen and Cora volunteers in her place. Once on the other side, she is chased, but is eventually found by multiple different monsters that all feel the urge to help her so that they can siphon some of their magic. Along the journey to safety, they pick up more monsters and secrets are revealed.
I really enjoyed this audiobook/kindle. The narrators were phenomenal but I expect nothing less from this duo. The book was interesting to say the least. There were many monsters in this relationship and they all have their own unique…… quirks, appendages, all of the above.

Genevieve, Archer, Gage, Booker, and Eric. Genevieve is what is considered ‘New Money’ in London. She was a street kid who came up with an idea for coffe shops for women. She is engaged to Chaz, when at her charity event, she witnesses him in the act with another woman. Upset, she takes off home and discovers men in her apartment, and they decide to take her captive. When being held captive, she starts to her captors even though she shouldn’t. When she gets the opportunity to make a phone call she does. This leads to her discovering some new information about Chaz and the guys.
I really like this audiobook/kindle read. It was entertaining to say the least especially the different personalities of her and the guys. I liked the relationship between them. The spice was HOT and i just enjoyed the concept of the story. The narration was really good. Rebecca and Will did an amazing job bringing this story to life for me. I probably enjoyed it more because of the audiobook. Something about audiobooks just do it for me sometimes.
