Great continuation of the series!

Excellent world building, expanding on character development, enjoying the now back sizzle of the conspiracy.
I must say, I do enjoy the speed at which these books are created by working with a stable of authors. My only true problem is that they end up VERY SHORT!
I like supporting authors and their creative endeavors, but when there are numerous books with a more expansive story that maybe 15 or more hours, these "short" stories rankle a little.
I would very much like to see some omnibus collections after a year or so after, say, every 3rd book. Just a suggestion.

Story
The newly renamed Vance Turbo has sabotaged his own career at Space Fleet Academy due to a desire to atone for a training accident. Unfortunately, his actions result in him getting press-ganged into an expendable crew of misfits recruited by a legendary starship captain. Their mission? To recover a collection of lost sun-destroying missiles that could restart a galactic war. Unfortunately, Vance is smart enough to know something is wrong with this picture. After all, no sane person would recruit this crew to save the universe.

Good fun characters with some interesting backstory. Great narrator in Jeffrey Kafer as always. Alien species could have been fleshed out a little more for my taste. They were a little one note and vague. Very enjoyable listen. Would recommend.

Story
Chase Weston never would have thought that being the bodyguard for an archaeologist could be so dangerous - even this archaeologist digging for the remains of an alien civilization on another planet. But everyone wants what Dr. Angel Cortez has found. Because beneath the dirt and stone, an ancient mystery lies, a secret history, and a warning of an implacable alien enemy. And if the warnings are true, then corporate mercenaries and Sea Dragon commandoes are the least of Chase’s worries.

Interesting take on future Xeno Archeology ramifications and the still incessant need to hate on fellow humans. War and distrust among nation states of earth still prevalent in the future. Unfortunately with way of things in today's society much more believable than say Star Trek.
But back to the review. Very well fleshed out characters for a first in a series and a few you even want to root for. Nice galaxy building. Slow build up to actual aliens but a great start.
Looking forward to future volumes!
And as always an appreciative shout out to Mark Boyett. A fantastic narrator!

Story
It is said by some that the Spellmonger’s exile to the Magelaw left Sevendor, the City of Magic, unprotected in his absence. That would be untrue, for though the mightiest mage of the era was forced by law and custom to refrain from visiting his realm in Castal, he left behind a significant body of learned and dedicated colleagues to continue his policies and see to the protection of the magelands. These were not all warmagi, nor even High Magi; indeed, the strength of Sevendor depended on magi of all types and descriptions.

It was not a Space Epic. it could have happened in two warring neighborhoods. It seemed like the author was fascinated with free and open sex because he seemed super fixated on it. Also with everyone having a gun as a normal thing. I can only describe this as someone's fantasy of a libertarian lifestyle.
Thoroughly disappointed!

Some nice storytelling with off beat superheroes, nice intros to some science and generally good character development from the first book.
Good follow up.
Was initially disappointed by the new narrator but I just imagined him growing that little bit older and getting a deeper voice. By the end I barely noticed.

The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

The Solarian League's navy counts its superdreadnoughts by the thousands. Not even its own government knows how enormous its economy truly is. And for hundreds of years, the League has borne the banner of human civilization, been the ideal to which humanity aspires in its diaspora across the galaxy. But the bureaucrats known as the "Mandarins," who rule today's League, are not the men and women who founded it so long ago. They are corrupt, venal, accountable to no one...and they've decided the upstart Star Kingdom of Manticore must be destroyed.

They came after the Diseray. Some were terrors ripped from our collective imaginations, remnants of every mythology across the world. And some were like nothing anyone had ever dreamed up, even in their worst nightmares. Now, the luckiest Cits live in enclosed communities, behind walls that keep them safe from the hideous monsters fighting to break through.
